It is a bit of a stumper, but the pick reminds me a bit of the Williams pick — not as to quality or style of player, but AK likes these toolsy players with potential upside and defensive potential. Hope he’s right with this pick.

Here's the ESPN.com draft analysis on Terry:

Terry has several things working in his favor as a prospect, starting with his intriguing dimensions at over 6-7 with a near 7-1 wingspan and 195-pound frame, which make him one of the most versatile defenders in this draft class. He plays with outstanding energy, is difficult to shoot over on the perimeter with his length, and can slide with point guards and wings alike. Terry is an excellent passer, growing up playing point guard and doing quite a bit of playmaking for Arizona all season. The development of his perimeter shooting, and overall scoring ability-- his biggest weakness as a prospect -- will play a major role in his ability to carve out a niche for himself and ultimately help determine what kind of career he has in the NBA.

The broadcast called Terry a "glue guy" who impressed in the interview portion of the combine. I think Pat Williams is a glue guy. I'm ready to see how Terry goes as a long and versatile wing who might blend well with our other guards; but when the Bulls went on the clock, I was hoping for one of the forwards Liddell, Jovic, Jaylin Williams, or a hotshot scorer (if they're worried LaVine is gone) or a trade down--I know... it's not the NFL--for one of the centers lower on the board to back up Vucevic. Like posters above, I'm just not that excited yet about Terry.

Projected low first rounder. Bulls took him for insurance now and as a guy later who has great upside but needs a lot of work, starting with muscle strength. Passing, transition, and defending are strengths. Really gets into passing lanes with his length. I think Bulls don't want another collapse down the stretch from injury and fatigue.

Interesting side note, only 2 G League Ignite players taken in 1st round, only 1 in lottery, and Jaden Hardy and Michael Foster, the two highest ranked '21 recruits to go G League, are both still on the board. Doesn't appear G League has an advantage in getting players drafted over college, and thanks to NIL probably doesn't get players paid better anymore either. Think it's going to end up exclusively as an option for guys who can't qualify academically.

Problem is none of the guys in that 85% are in the NBA. It's all just the top and really just the best of the best. I love Kofi and don't doubt that he'll work his butt off to improve, but he often struggled against the kinds of bigs he'd be matched up with in the NBA (eg, Koloko).

Draft for who you think is the best available over need. If this is who the FO evaluated the highest, I’ll trust it for now

I don’t mind the pick. I like Liddell, but it seems the whole idea of ability to switch and add an elite defender was of the higher importance. Let’s be honest, Liddell switching onto an elite guard and it is over for him. And, he might be listed as a guard on ESPN, but Terry is the same height (maybe a little taller) with longer reach and better bounce.

I don't think it's over for Liddell on the switch -- he can recover from behind pretty well. Depends what's behind him to a certain degree too. But as far as Terry goes, I actually like the pick. Not sure it's exactly the positional fit I expected but Terry seems like he'll end up as more of a 3/4 with time. His shooting form should improve with NBA-level development and he does all the other important things at a very high level.

Kofi can score on 85 percent of the guys he’d be matched up against in the nba.
