Selection show complete. But I'll give my predictions. Why not...
1a Stockton over Camp Point
2a El Paso over Westville
3a Byron over Williamsville (the top half of this bracket is loaded for this class)
4a Montini over Rochester(Montini better beware of Morris)
5a Providence over Prairie Ridge
6a ESTL over Naz
7a Brother Rice over Richard's
8a Chi MC over Maine South

1A is my Dunning-Kruger contribution to this program.

I would agree, though CPC will have a brutal second round draw with the Athens-Brown County winner and likely facing Hardin-Calhoun who has a "smooth for playoff bracket" path to semis. Stockton has to face the final boss of 1A Lena-Winslow at the end, GCMS pending.

Also nice that both CPC and Brown County has YouTube channels.

I will admit, 1a is probably the class I'm least familiar with, but Stockton just seems like a juggernaut here. Lena does have pedigree, but didnt work out too well earlier. You never know how a team will react of they get challenged though. I went with CPC more due to history. Looks like CPC did handle Brown relatively easy a few weeks ago.

First tip its Brown County or just BC

Thing is with the big three WIVC with CPC, Hardin-Calhoun, and BC is that they were comically dominant in the WIVC just look ar the. Thing is WIVC teams only play each other during the regular season. BC's only losses came against CPC and Calhoun. CPC and Calhoun did not face other this season. BTW if you are curious, poor North Greene faced all three.

Two more notes:

1. Ignoring Athens, BC's opponent, is fool's errands. They are the runt of the Sangamo, the conference of Williamsville and Maroa-Forsyth,
2. Greenfield played Calhoun tough this season and Carrollton has gotten an unusually alright draw, they could end in round three. However Carrollton is unusually tiny even for 1A team.

🤣🤣 I will make sure I get their name right. I'll land on BC just to be safe. Never disrespect to the Hornets. I will trust your analysis of WIV north and south. You have a grasp of those teams that is I'm sure is unmatched on this board. I'm still rolling with CPC, but I appreciate the passion and knowledge of this conference and these teams.

1. There are other WIVC fans much more knowledge than me here :). There is a small army here.
2. Forget CPC, now I am scared of Athens right now.

Montini will kill Morris.
Richards has no shot to be in the final.
Maine South got such a good draw. Lots of of top teams in the upper bracket but Mt Carmel is a legendary squad this year.

CG in 5A this year…can’t recall the last time that happened (ever?). Most years are 6A with the occasional 7A.

So is Prairie Ridge, for that matter. Was there some change in the enrollment / class rules I missed? Or maybe we are just shrinking. 😆

Montini should roll all the way through. Morris is just a team that is down in class this year and can get a game stuck in the mud. They are physical.
I just like Richard's side of the bracket. I think they got a great draw. I really like DGN, but their path is tough.

As a Westville grad who lost twice in the championship game at Memorial Stadium and is now married to an El Paso grad, that 2a result would kill me.

There is 8 man football now, so quite a few of the smallest 1A schools are now 8 man teams. I think there is 33 8-man teams. There is a few schools like ISD and Mount Olive that dropped football all together especially 2020 and after.

Just in central Illinois, these schools have 8-man football:

-Milford (Co-op with Cissna Park)
-Decatur Unity Christian (Formerly known as Decatur Lutheran; Co-op with Mt. Pulaski)
-Macon Meridian
-Champaign St. Thomas More
-Farmer City Blue Ridge
-Danville Schlarman
-Kincaid South Fork (Co-op with Edinburg and Morrisonville)
-Pawnee (Co-Op with Raymond Lincolnwood)

That is unclear to me. My daughter is on the East dance team and was not sure why it was Thursday either. From the East side, I guess it's better to let them get an extra day of rest/practice before the playoffs. I bet they end up getting MC in the third round, assuming they can pull things back together.

These last two games have been odd. East is usually a run-first team, but they built a new offense around Williams, which is 60-70% throwing the ball. They have few great receivers, including LaVista who is a Washington commit, and Williams (USC) is incredibly mobile with a great arm.

East played their backup sr. quarterback vs. Naperville North, and he isn't able to throw the ball and is only 5'9", so he is not a great threat to run either. They do also have a RB who is really good and is going to Navy to play football, so its not like they have no run game. Against Naperville North, they moved the ball but totally stalled out in the red zone, and instead of trying to get some field goals, inexplicably kept going for it on fourth down.

Against Sandburg, they called up the sophomore QB for his first varsity playing time. The kid is much better and about 6'1" with a solid arm, but he threw a couple of picks in his first time playing varsity (he only practiced with the sophomore team prior to that start), so it's not unexpected. They also missed a couple of field goals and were in a position to win, but again stalled out on fourth a few times.

Mt Carmel has such great athletes; if they played East without Williams and Alexander, they'd win by 25+, but if those two are actually back for East, it could be a great game.
I (wrongly) assumed Pike stood for Pike County...

Clearly you aren't a fan from West Central Illinois 🤣 serves me right for assuming.

That's crazy to hear! Mt Olive used to be a top tier program when I was in school. Played them a few times in the quarter/semi finals.

Guess it's just a sign of how much things have really been turned on their head at the 1a level the last 10-15 years.

School I played for, Triopia. Lost as many games in the 4 years I played, then the team did in one season (this year).

Don Dobrino came out of retirement to coach them for a while - he played on the '57 Iowa Rose Bowl team. The guy could coach. Mt. Olive now co-ops with Litchfield.
