Don Dobrino came out of retirement to coach them for a while - he played on the '57 Iowa Rose Bowl team. The guy could coach. Mt. Olive now co-ops with Litchfield.
He coached his last game against us.

RIght, for some reason they are not listed as a coop. It might be because they are still separate school districts? In the same area, there is Staunton-Bunker Hill.

31-0 2nd quarter East
They got it to 45-0 at the half (and then sat the starters), but Stevenson is not very good.

If East has another solid game and gets everyone more reps against Palatine, it should set up a great one with Mt Carmel. If everyone is healthy for both teams, it's the real 8A championship game, like the East vs Loyola game was last year.

I know Williams wanted to head out west for college, but that kid would be a great, great fit for the Illini at QB. It's amazing how different that East team is with and without Williams (and our guy Jacob Alexander) playing. They would have beaten Sandburg and Naperville North by 30+ points with them both in the lineup. Sucks that those losses put them on the same side of the bracket with Mt Carmel and gave Maine South (who East beat 40-0 in Park Ridge this year) a free ride to the championship game.

Guess it's just a sign of how much things have really been turned on their head at the 1a level the last 10-15 years.

School I played for, Triopia. Lost as many games in the 4 years I played, then the team did in one season (this year).
Triopia was a juggernaut itself for many years. Didn’t they win a championship or two?

No, I'm unaware of that. This was in 09 while coaching Mt Olive.
He coached at Gillespie for many years starting in the 70's, then retired (the first time). He came out of retirement to coach at Mt Olive (where he went to high school), then retired again. Then he came out of retirement one more time to coach his grandson at Gillespie.

you talking Mt Carmel or Mount Carmel or Carmel ?

😀

Way too many Carmels - haha!

And when I said East may be the only team that can beat them this year, I used the word ‘can’ intentionally. Mt Carmel is a load this year and has the most talent of anyone (aside from some ESL teams) in a long time and it would take a perfect game and lots of breaks to knock them off.

Audio only, Kona of a blowout.
Wilmington’s offense makes CPC and BC”s offense look like an air raid hehe.

Love these guys. It's one of only ways I'm able to follow the Winchester Invitational Tournament each January.
I can’t see what video this was but I’m assuming it’s about Camp Point Central and West Central. My cousin was the starting quarterback for West Central. It was a tough loss because he’s a senior and it was his last game. His team was very young. 4 seniors total on the team.
