Next Saturday is likely out as an option with an ISU basketball game happening that night. They could likely get 5A and 6A in but 7A and 8A would have logistical issues.
I wouldn't be surprised if 7A and 8A were moved to the Chicagoland area with the remaining teams in those classes being up there. DeKalb could be an option with NIU basketball being on the road next Saturday.

This actually wouldn't be that bad of an option, especially with the Bears on the road next weekend.
Do all the parents/fans get refunds on the hotels they booked? I’d be so upset I’m assuming all the teams are already there. I’d be surprised any would be bussing in on the day of the game.
The IHSA is blaming it on ISU for “closing campus”. But since it’s Thanksgiving isn’t the campus already closed?
Highly doubtful on the hotels. At least the fans and especially by the time they found out - they are on their own. Years ago Champaign had hotel issues with the basketball tournament. I was glad the IHSA told CU to shove it.
As far as closing campus, ISU would have still been providing parking lots/attendants, ticketing, concessions, snow removal, etc.. Even something as basic as unlocking the gates to the stadium. They ain't doing it.

Looked like the receiver was in from the stands for Unity. Our crowd really wanted PI on fourth and no video board replay

5A and 6A title games to now be played at ISU on Tuesday:
Announcement of when 7A and 8A title games will be played should be announced by tonight with the IHSA intending to have them played either Wednesday or Thursday.

This actually makes a lot of sense. With the 4 remaining teams from that part of the state, no need to have it back at ISU. Plus with ISU having a home basketball game on Wednesday, they couldn't have done it then any way.

The parking in that stadium area is iffy, even the ISU alum that I rode complained about it....
Even with the shift in the date and locations for the 5A-8A title games, they will still air on TV.
