Let the Games begin.........................................

#7
While the opening ceremonies aren't until Friday, the Games do get underway on Wednesday with the mixed doubles curling competition.
Always a highlight when the mixed doubles curling season gets going.

/s, I mean, really.

Curling is one of the few sports that people really get into this time of year. A lot of curling clubs have popped up here in the states in the recent years.
I’d take time off work and stay home and watch curling! If it was on every weekend I probably wouldn’t care. But once every four years, I can’t stop watching it for reasons beyond comprehension! 🤣

Olympics yet again!

My first on tv was 1960 Rome. Guy named Cassius Clay, among others. So much fun over the years. Always look forward to the games. I prefer Olympics to elections every four years.

And I always remember a funny quote of Chicago Tribune great sportswriter Bob Verdi about U.S. performance in the winter games way back:

"First in war, first in peace and 33rd in the luge."

Some things never change, but we're getting better in the luge.

Wish I had my good old trusty Flexible Flyer for one more run.
