3/1 Games

#1
There are several games today that could help our tournament chances. Teams we want to win in bold.

Louisville at Wake Forest
Marquette at Xavier
Michigan at Northwestern
Kansas State at TCU
VCU at Dayton
Mississippi at Alabama
Auburn at Georgia
Tennessee at LSU
Rhode Island at Saint Joseph's

Also, per CBS Sports Palm Reader

We should root for SEMO to defeat Tennessee St and NC State to defeat Clemson to boost our RPI

KSU has suddenly become more interesting. Their AD, John Currie, is outbound to Tennessee. Currie is a known Weber sympathizer (he also wanted to get rid of Snyder for some reason). In the midst their late-season meltdown here, there are fewer and fewer Weber supporters among the ranks of KSU fans.

Is NW really close enough to the bubble to be out if they keep losing? Part of me would rather they win so we keep two top 50 wins..

The number of similarities between the Illinois/Weber and KSU/Weber situations are really striking.

If they lose out they'll likely be out of the top 60 rpi putting them firmly in last team in territory. It's unlikely they stay in the top 50 unless they beat purdue or another top team in the BTT.

Also of note is that if Illinois wants the 7 seed in the B1G tournament, they need a Michigan win tonight.

Including awkward pressers.
“I thought the effort was fine, we just missed shots,” Weber said. “When you miss shots, what happens emotionally? We got to a point in the second half where we were just emotionally whipped. There is no doubt that happened. Everybody has got to play better. They care. Maybe they care too much.

If Currie is leaving it is all over for Weber.

This Michigan/Northwestern game is one of the best I've seen all season.

Michigan had a terrible possession to almost close the game, had a good shot to win it and take a bad 3...

NW winning eliminates us being able to get the 7. This means we play Purdue on Friday. Really felt we need to at least get to Saturday of the BTT to feel safely in.
