This season it seems like the more desperate team pulls out the W. I expect Purdue to win tonight. They haven't lost 2 straight all season.

On another note, that 4th double bye is still up for grabs. OSU, Iowa, MSU, Michigan, and Rutgers all still have a chance.

Assuming we, Purdue, and Wisconsin all win out after today's game, there's only two possible scenarios and one is miles better than the other.

Purdue Wins today: All three of us get a share of the B1G title and we get placed third with Wisconsin second and Purdue first for the BTT. This avoids the Purdue matchup and makes it easier for us to hopefully get to the final.

Wisconsin Wins Today: Wisconsin alone wins the B1G title and we get placed second with Purdue third and Wisconsin first in the BTT. Though we manage a higher seed, we don't avoid the Purdue matchup and get screwed out of the B1G title and have to deal with a probable third loss to Purdue earlier in the BTT. (and probably lose our chances at a potential third seed in the NCAAT)

Purdue needs to win today. And we need to win out.

The question, it looks like we will end up as the 3 seed in the BTT so who would we like on Friday, Rutgers, Iowa, Michigan or Michigan State? I doubt Indiana will nab the 6 seed so MSU has three tough games left. At MIch and OSU then home against MD. So do we pull for MSU or scUM tonight? I would think we need to have OSU lose a game to help our seed if we slip up and lose to Iowa Or PSU. They have both MSU and Mich at home after Nebby comes to Columbus tonight. We need PU to beat Wisky tonight to have any chance at a Co-Championship at 15-5. I would like Nebby to come in and catch OSU napping as they look ahead to MSU and Mich. Its going to be a fun night of basketball. Its tourney week for smaller conferences so it gives us a chance to see teams we could play in the first round of the Tourney.

MSU was a handful both times, either could've easily been an L, never eager to see Izzo in March.

Iowa's hot streaking (granted mostly against subpar competition), played us close, and we'll have just seen them a few days prior.

Those are the ones I'd prefer to avoid. Sign me up for either of:

Michigan is just outright not that good, a very average team, and Brad owns Juwan. I think this is my preferred matchup.

But I'll also take Rutgers at not The RAC. 3-9 on the road and we absolutely undressed them in Champaign.

Give me Rutgers. They punked us at the RAC and some revenge would be nice. Also I want to see Michigan matched up with Wisconsin.

I have a different take on this - while getting a share of the Big Ten Title is a good thing for a lot of reasons, us getting Purdue in the semi-finals is not a bad thing at all IMO

If we're looking to improve our seeding in the NCAA - which is my primary objective of the BTT - it's important to play and beat Purdue in the semi-finals so the committee reflects that in the seeding - as we've seen year after year, the top 4 seeds are done before the BTT final is over, so it really won't have an influence win or lose in the finals. Us losing to Purdue in the semis likely doesn't change or seeding anyway, nor does us beating Wisconsin in the semis

So, the only way to really make a statement in the BTT is to beat Purdue in the Semi finals given they are the only team with a higher Net than us - plus I wouldn't mind another shot at Purdue with us at full strength!

We need MSU and Michigan to go on a little run to get their Net 30 or above to get us 2 more Q1 wins which would be nice in the seeding conversation

If we're doing a routing guide - I think we route for MSU over UM tonight given that should bump them up more than it hurts Michigan and MIchigan has two high net teams it can still beat

I agree with this, especially if we take care of business against PSU and IA, as well as whoever we play first in the BTT.
That will probably be 3 tough games before we get to PU.

If Purdue wins and Ohio State loses to Michigan State we are the second seed.

Is this a conspiracy, or a known fact?

I could be misremembering but I think I recall the committee admitting last year that the result of the BTT championship did not factor into their seeding decisions. I don't know if that's because Illinois already had a 1 seed wrapped up win or lose. Or if they just never consider the BTT championship game. If it's the latter, then their process feels flawed to me.

LOL.

First, I don't much care about whether we win the BTT title. and projecting three games into a tourney is a bit of a fools errand.

Second, how is playing Purdue at any point during the BTT tournament "getting screwed". With the leader in the Big Ten right now with 4 losses, we really had our destiny in our own hands. We didn't get the job done so we are getting the seed that we deserve.
