I could've worded it a bit better but I said if Wisconsin wins, we'd get screwed out of the B1G title, I never said screwed for anything Purdue-related.LOL.
First, I don't much care about whether we win the BTT title. and projecting three games into a tourney is a bit of a fools errand.
Second, how is playing Purdue at any point during the BTT tournament "getting screwed". With the leader in the Big Ten right now with 4 losses, we really had our destiny in our own hands. We didn't get the job done so we are getting the seed that we deserve.
They've made it very clear that conferences that hold their championship on Sunday would possibly be causing themselves problems. They have a lot of work to do and trying to rework everything at the last minute because of the conference championship game is not really feasible.I could be misremembering but I think I recall the committee admitting last year that the result of the BTT championship did not factor into their seeding decisions. I don't know if that's because Illinois already had a 1 seed wrapped up win or lose. Or if they just never consider the BTT championship game. If it's the latter, then their process feels flawed to me.
Not to mention one more day of rest going into the ncaa tourney. They've made it very clear that conferences that hold their championship on Sunday would possibly be causing themselves problems. They would probably say we are flawed in how we do it. Big 12, ACC, and Big East all hold their championships on Saturday. That's an option for us that we aren't taking and there is potentially a price.
It's possible that last year's BTT championship result didn't factor into seeding, but I've also heard them say they aren't afraid to prepare two sets of brackets to account for different outcomes. It all depends on who's playing in the championship game. If a team like Michigan wins the BTT, that's going to affect their seeding and whether they'll even make the tournament.I could be misremembering but I think I recall the committee admitting last year that the result of the BTT championship did not factor into their seeding decisions. I don't know if that's because Illinois already had a 1 seed wrapped up win or lose. Or if they just never consider the BTT championship game. As others have pointed out - the committee has admitted in years past they could not/did not reflect the BTT championship game into their seedings. They don't like the time of the BTT championship game and they have been clear on that. Given viewership/TV ratings, the B1G is not moving it, so it is what it isIs this a conspiracy, or a known fact?

Yup and the Friars have played no one really. They have won the games though..watched 8 minutes of nova-friars ....not impressed by either team...
first time I've watched providence.....no inside game , missed at least 5 bunnies ......live and die shooting 3's
nova has little offensive scheme's so far....5th or 6th game I've seen them .....vastly overrated ...
could say that about both teams , east coast bias in the polls ...................................jmho
one of the growling announcers said won 7 games by , I believe , 7 points or less.....sounds like wisky................Yup and the Friars have played no one really. They have won the games though..
I tried explaining how complex this thing can get with OSU’s last loss. That number 4 spot can get interesting.Big 10 Standings

Wow - that is impressive. Of course maybe people just wanted to see Ayo, Kofi and Andre playRegardless of the occasional seeding complication, the last game before the bracket announcement is the best TV slot there is, kind of like the Rose Bowl. We're not giving it up if we have any say at all in the decision.

Happy to be of serviceto whoever posted the Kyle Young smells like Paul Malls and malt liquor comment the other day-I cannot keep a straight face watching OSU right now
Was thinking exactly the same thing earlier today.Neb could be a spoiler like the Illinois team of 1999. If they play this well next week, they could make it to the Semi’s.
