As Navy pointed out, they have a lack of depth. We have been lucky enough that our role guys have helped us win games, Payne against Nebraska, Goode against MSU, Podz against NU.We managed to not go on a big skid while dealing with injuries. They have lost 4 of 5 since they beat us.
And thank heavens we did beat them on our home floor. That made my season. They choked the game away, which is perfectly fine with me. If they want to shoot 9-21 from the line and miss 5 out of 6 down the stretch...ill take it all day long. That said, they're 9-2 in their last 11 games, they're shooting the cover off the ball and are shockingly playing defense. If/when we do play them again, I want to beat the breaks off of them. However, if I had one team that I could remove from the tournament ....it's them.
Branham couldn’t miss. He hasn’t had a performance like that since. Happens.I just don't see how we lost to Ohio St. They're not good.
they've got exactly one player that can hurt you. Keep them off the offensive glass and they are toast.
TxT is a beast of a team. But they match up well against ISU, force a lot of turnovers and fast breaks. I’d expect they take care of Okla.Texas Tech earning their potential 3 seed status.... destroying Iowa State. We just have to take care of our own business.
I see what you did thereAfter losing to Colorado, Oregon (preseason rank 13) is almost certain to miss the NCAA tournament.
But I hope they will not be the team with the highest preseason rank to miss the tournament.
Don’t like Izzo but his record is the best of the bunch historically. Don’t think you make judgements based on a couple of years. Howard had 1 good year and 1 bad year. Don’t know where he will be long term. Pikiell hasn’t exactly had a juggernaut either. Like our coach and the trend but some years are better than others. Kofi-less team will be a test.Juwan is not a good coach. He got really lucky last season IMO. Woodson is a much better coach, but IU doesn't have the talent to be top of B1G. Fran is a pretty good coach and develops his guys, but not great at coaching defense. Underwood is the best coach in the league. Of course Izzo is has the history of winning, but I think Underwood right now is better than Izzo. If I had to rank the B1G coaches now just based on the recruiting and coaching of the past couple seasons:
1. Underwood
2. Painter
3. Gard
4. Pikiell
5. Fran
6. Holtmann
7. Juwan
8. Izzo
9. Hoiberg
10. Collins
Woodson, Shrewsberry, Johnson and Manning are all new coaches to the B1G, so can't really say how good they are yet. But I think Shrewsberry is probably the one out of these four who will have the most success in the future followed by Johnson. Woodson can be successful but I think he's too old school to get elite recruits at IU. Manning will probably be gone after this season.
Juwan ahead of Izzo? Sorry but Juwan couldn't hold Izzo's jock strap when it comes to coaching. Izzo's easily Top 3 or 4, even now.Juwan is not a good coach. He got really lucky last season IMO. That's like saying Kofi or Hawkins. Perkins has been playing well lately but averaging 6 ppg compared to 23 ppg isn't comparable.Keegan or Perkins?
Why can’t we have a laugh buttonEw gross
I've been thinking the same thing - I've only watched a little bit of OSU since our game, but I wonder where is this guy that Brad called "the best player in the Big Ten" in his postgame - he certainly looked like it against us, we couldn't stop himBranham couldn’t miss. He hasn’t had a performance like that since. Happens.

He said 'based on the recruiting and coaching of the past couple seasons:' In that case Izzo may not be 8 but he definitely ain't in the top 2.Izzo 8? That is homer comedy right there. Izzo below 2 on any B1G coach list is laughable. Brad is climbing and has been 1a or 1b over the last couple of years...but you can't ignore what Gard does with his Wisky squads...and Painter IMHO is the best X/O game coach in the B1G year in year out.

Maybe for the last 2 season yes. But that's a pretty arbitrary line to draw and I think you could look at any experienced coach's tenure and see a couple bad seasons in there. Just prior to this 2 year stretch Izzo won 3 consecutive Big Ten regular season titles and made a Final Four. So if you drew the line at 5 years instead of 2 then you probably are talking about him as being in the top 2 or 3.He said 'based on the recruiting and coaching of the past couple seasons:' In that case Izzo may not be 8 but he definitely ain't in the top 2.

Game has passed Izzo by. I think he is closer to 8 than 2 now.Izzo 8? That is homer comedy right there. Izzo below 2 on any B1G coach list is laughable. Passed him by so much that he’s the BigTen coach most recently in the Final Four. I hope when things pass me by I’m still that good.Game has passed Izzo by. I think he is closer to 8 than 2 now.
