I think we’re a sure fire 6 seed, so we’re gonna be a 7 seed
This is where I've settled. Feels like Illinois deserves a 6, so get ready for a 7-10 slugfest.

Palm’s bracket stinks. Bracket matrix has us as the last 6 seed right now. A 6 or 7 should be expected tomorrow guys.

So here's what I got:

Teams that will certainly/almost certainly be seeded higher:

Duke, Houston, Texas Tech, BYU, Arizona, Iowa State, St Johns, Michigan State, MD, Wisconsin, Michigan, Oregon, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Kentucky.

Teams that might or might not be seeded higher:

Memphis, Louisville, Clemson, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, Kansas, UConn, Creighton, Marquette, Purdue, UCLA, Missouri, Ole Miss, Mississippi State.

Thoughts?

The teams in bold no way. The rest will be a 5 or 6. Which leaves 2 spots left for a 6. So maybe us and UCLA for the other 6s. I don't think any team from the Big East outside of St. Johns and the mid major teams should be ahead of us. We beat Missouri. Miss. St, Kansas no way.

Still would like Memphis to lose today. If they win, committee might be tempted to look their way for the 6 final seed instead of us

Don't see it. They play in a very weak conference, 1 bid league, NET ranking 48. They aren't going to get rewarded for that.
Memphis 48 in net and also have 2 quad 3 losses.
Totally bailed out today by the zebras. It's a team that wouldn't be in the field had they been in a respectable conference.

Have you seen their OOC Wins against Mizzou, Michigan St, Clemson, Uconn, Mississippi? Metrics aren't great but they are between Northwestern, Indiana, and Nebraska on Torvik. Any of those teams would be comfortably in with those OOC results.

What about their losses to Arkansas St., Temple and Wichita St?

Mississippi State ZERO chance

Will BYU have to be moved down from the 4/5 line? If the tournament schedule holds from last year, they won’t be able to be one of those seeds since they would play on Sunday with a win in the first round.

The schedule depends on the location, not the seed.
Weird. I thought there were reports last year that they were the 17th overall seed but had to be a 6 because the 4 and 5s play on Friday/Sunday.

They did have to move down because of the Sunday games. But it was because it just happened to work out that every 1 seed was awarded a Fri/Sun location.

This year Lexington is a Thu/Sat site, and will most likely be where Auburn plays so BYU could get put there.
