Best 7 seed would mean it's up to the committee whether to keep us a bit closer in TN or 'Bama's pod, or send us to Providence with St John's. I'd guess the latter.

You all are wrong. We'll be a 7.

I said the tourney started: win one - 7 seed. Lose the first - 8 seed.

Need a list of possible teams we want and don’t want in front of us next 2 games. I think teams with higher lower Defense ratings above 30 is what we want! Better defense teams shut us off.

I think we don't want teams with experience playing in a solid offensive system.

I actually think a 6 in Milwaukee is pretty likely. The 3 seed sites are looking likely to be Milwaukee x2, Wichita, and Denver. UCLA and BYU are other likely 6 seeds that would slot into Denver/Wichita even if higher on the seed list than us.
Milwaukee is the most likely option. If Iowa State loses the 3 it’ll be most likely to a Big Ten team who we can’t play in the second round, same if A&M loses it. That would leave Wichita (Texas Tech) and Milwaukee (Kentucky). Milwaukee would be the favorite there, and especially if Iowa State maintains the 3 seed and we have 2 options for Milwaukee.

I think a 12-13 seed is more appropriate for this talentless bunch, they will just choke anyway1

I still think we are a 6. Barely, but still a 6. We have a top 10 SOS, a top17 NET, KenPom 20, and our Q1-Q2 record is 15-12. I think we will be slotted in Milwaukee. The gap between 5-7 is very narrow. It will be interesting how the Committee looks at us. We have a very unique profile.
Yep. Arizona surpassed us by beating Texas Tech, Michigan solidified its place above us, and Louisville did too by beating Clemson. Another win by Memphis today probably secures a #6 for them (though I don't think it is deserving given their schedule and the fact they have 3 Q3 losses). If Creighton upsets St. John's they likely would surpass us, too. You probably could put the Illini, Missouri, Marquette, Mississippi State, UCLA, Kansas, BYU, Gonzaga, UConn and St. Mary's into a hat and blindly pick the last couple of #6 seeds and the #7 seeds. One should be looking at an overall body of work, but any committee members who happened to watch the Duke and Maryland games might be inclined to downgrade us to a #7 because they are human. After all, we as fans kind of came to that conclusion as we watched the beatdowns unfold.
Interestingly, looking at the current projected #2s, if we get a #7 we'd likely be placed in a region with St. John's as we already have played Michigan State (twice), Alabama and Tennessee. Or maybe with Florida if Alabama beats the Gators today and gets the final #1 seed.

I just hope Jerry Palm doesn't have us playing in Dayton.
Palm is so bad. Just look at how bad he is on bracket matrix. He’s completely irrelevant. Good to see his Purdue team smacked around last night - I’m sure he will reward them with a 2 seed.

In all seriousness, you would think Palm would look in the mirror and see how bad he is at Bracketology and resign.

The problem is that whoever we play in the second round will likely be at least as talented and physical as Maryland if not more so.
Hate to say it- but Maryland is just really really good this year. Legit top 10-12 team. They are tough and have played with eachother for years. I’m as frustrated with the loss as anyone else but I still see this team having a good chance at getting to the second weekend. Hit shots, rebound, take care of the ball. Teams have a habit of going nuclear on us, but if we can even shoot ok & hope someone doesn’t hit 8 threes, or start 5/5 or something ridiculous… we still can compete and beat a 3 or 2 seed… keep figutin’, Illini.

A lot of people covet jobs that allow you to do badly

Yep, we tend to overreact to losses like this. They are concerning but more the exception than the norm. We have a pretty good team most days and at our best we are very hard to beat. We’re just not consistent. I think a first round exit or another Elite Eight run are both very possible scenarios.
