After seeing the end of the Miznoz game, and how upset Porter was after losing, I recant my earlier statement that he looked like he stopped trying. I guess I didn't realize just how out of playing shape he really is.

At any rate, I hope we have seen the last of him in college, the few flashes of what he could be are pretty scary. Go pro young man, go pro!

It's hilarious how one game can change perception of a coach so quickly with some idiots when the total body of work screams success. Bennett is still a great coach.

I've changed over time on this. I used to despise Weber with a visceral passion in the years after he was fired. But I've mellowed over time.

Ultimately, I think he has deep flaws as a communicator and a leader. But I think he's a genuinely good man. And for that reason, I'll root for him. I hate how he drove the Ferrari into the ditch, but he did give us a magical run. I'll always appreciate him for that.

John Groce is also a good man, but there's really no nostalgia with Groce. I'd rather just forget the Groce era entirely. I wish him well, though.

As for Cuonzo.......well, Mizzou fans, this is what you've got in Cuonzo as a coach. Enjoy your recruiting victories, because your on-the-court glory will be quite limited.

I echo that. He's a good man and obviously knows the details of the game to teach and coach it. His personality is just infuriating to watch if he's coaching your team. It's mesmerizing to just watch his behavior on the sidelines. He literally screams and points his fingers wildly at every opposing player during the possession. Then, when his team gets the rebound, Weber *runs* in his suit with them until he reaches the coaching box limit. He does it every time. He's been a major college coach for almost 20 years, made millions and millions of dollars and his sideline demeanor is more juvenile than any middle school game I've watched. He just has zero self-awareness. I can't imagine that the players even pretend to listen to him anymore.

"MOVE Demetri!!!"

It was certainly a big upset, no doubt. The biggest ever. And Bennett can fairly be criticized for not living up to the expectations in the tournament.

But c'mon......it's a tad bit ridiculous to suddenly assert that Bennett isn't a great coach because of this loss. Just look at his last 5 years.....and that's in the ACC, with a team that is probably one the lesser talented teams in that league. This doesn't even consider the success he had at Washington State, which is a total basketball backwater.

The man can flat out coach.

2013–14 Virginia 30–7 16–2 1st NCAA Sweet Sixteen
2014–15 Virginia 30–4 16–2 1st NCAA Round of 32
2015–16 Virginia 29–8 13–5 T–2nd NCAA Elite Eight
2016–17 Virginia 23–11 11–7 T–5th NCAA Round of 32
2017–18 Virginia 31–3 17–1 1st NCAA Round of 64

You have to admit, however, those tourney results, with the teams he had could make an argument against "great" and more like - "great" against the ACC, not so great against the field.
