Top 3 seeds so far are 8-1 with an average margin of victory of 21 points (smallest 16, largest 34). The three remaining such games are all 1 seeds, and UConn is already looking to boost that average.

What this indicates:
1. Kentucky is a huge outlier so far.
2. The tournament is very top heavy to start.

So I had this dream of UCONN being this years version of last years Purdont. I turned on the game with 1 min left in the first half. Stetson only had scored 15 points... 15.... UCONN had 50... So I guess it falls to Purdont to be this years Purdont again.

What is interesting is how similarly constructed their rosters are.

The rule that i forgot when filling out my brackets, if everyone is talking about likely upsets (Mcneese, Samford, New Mexico), they aren’t likely to happen.

Which is wild considering how many top 10 teams lost on the road to unranked teams this year

One of Satan's players just got ejected, another hurt, and another with 2 fouls. I don't think Yale can run with UConn. No idea what to root for in this game...

Whenever my father heard an announcer or someone say something like "Americans love underdogs," he'd point out: "No. Americans love underdogs who win."

Yale's got some 3pt gunners

EDIT: and they're in the bonus at 13:30 left in the 1st half, yikes

Does Martinelli really need to flail his elbow/arm out like that while trying to grab the board?

I feel like D1 players are crafty enough to know if they look away from their target, they're might get away with elbows like that not being called F1/F2s
I officiate a fair amount of D1 in a different sport. You are correct - at that level, these players know what they can and can't generally get away with. You always have to be on the lookout for when a player is thinking that a referee isn't looking at something.

Looks like the committee may have known what they were doing on at least this game. Clemson..New Mexico 6/11 seeds yet Vegas had the 11th seed New Mexico favored....OUCH!!!! Clemson is up by 19 with just under 4 minutes lol

Of the 6 completed games so far, only one game has been a single-digit finish (the UAB/San Diego St game), though the NW win did go into overtime. Not the most entertaining afternoon session of first round tourney, but the Colorado/Florida game is shaping up to be an exciting finish. Hopefully the evening session will be much more entertaining, which I expect to be the case with more than half of the games having single-digit spreads.

Classless Satan tries to find an excuse for his player taking a whack at the Yale player…geez, just say it was wrong and leave it…he also said it shouldn’t have been a flagrant 2…and now Chucky is defending the Auburn player…Smith making sense…can’t believe I agree with him

Speaking of guys who mail it in for the NCAA tournament, Charles Barkley fits that mold. From the time this TNT/CBS relationship started, Barkley has always come across as not really caring that much about college basketball. He's great on Inside the NBA, and I get he's going to be a staple on these broadcasts as long as the TNT family of networks is involved. But he's not good at the college game.

I love Chuck but listening to him trying to argue against the ejection is something
It's the combo of the Auburn homer in him and his reputation as a player that makes him think the game has gone soft.
