watching the badgers suck like that makes me kinda worried. osu looked like a top 5 team against us in the btt finals 2021, then proceeded to lose in the 1st round. Wisconsin looked pretty amazing us in the btt....hopefully its just jmu or all teams just look great against us...
Bad matchup for Wisconsin, JMU had a player who could match up with Chucky and also enough athleticism to bother Storr and speed him up. Wisconsin bigs otherwise seemed intimidated by the bodies flying at them. Also just not Wisconsin’s day. Bad shots by JMU went in and accidental, off the back board passes were nice assists for them this night. While shots Wiscy topically makes rimmed out. Single elimination tournament….

Going into the tournament, I thought one of Auburn-Alabama would lose, Kansas would lose, and one of Wisconsin-St. Mary's-Gonzaga would lose.

2 of 3 ain't bad.
I did not expect Auburn to lose. I was super high on them and they played incredible basketball every time I caught them on tv.

Mazara getting tossed was kind of game changing in that Auburn was imposing their will early and that kind of flipped the momentum. Then Yale just hung around and hung around before putting a run together to take a lead and then Auburn just kind of panicked.

As much as I enjoyed watching Pearl lose. I thought Auburn may have been good enough to knock off UCONN. I think UCONN will have a cakewalk to the elite 8 at this point.

It's literally a no brainer to root for Big Ten teams in the Tournament.

Good conference results --> good pre/early season rankings for these teams --> more inertia for the good rankings to stick through the season --> more Quad 1 wins for us
If your love for the Illini exceeds your hate for the other B1G teams. It certainly does for me, but apparently not for all. 😂

Gard’s seat getting pretty warm at Wisco??
They ran into a good team, with an awesome 6th man to make terrible calls and break Wisconsin's momentum repeatedly. That missed blatant foul when WI had a chance to cut it to 4, and then gave up a 3 was huge. Giving the ball out of bounds to the wrong team, on another obvious call killed another run. WI, once they settled, was the better team IMO. They had some players lose hope and start taking bad shots w/~5min to play. That doomed them. I was underwhelmed with Storr this game. Selfish play. Bad decisions. Terrible shot selection.

James Madison sure doesn't look like a 12 seed to me. Announcer said they were rated as high as 15 and have a 31-3 record....reminds me of the seemingly incorrectly ranked Loyola the Ilini lost to.

my comments on JMU from last week. I don't think it's so much that they were under seeded, as Wiscy returned to their February form.

I fell asleep at halftime of the Wisconsin game.....did they at least make a run to get it close?

Man they were really bad in that first half.

Who is Samscum?
I am late to this thread but I believe it is a reference to Kelvin Sampson late of Indiana. He was forced to resign due to allegations of serious NCAA violations and played a role in the controversial recruitment of star player Eric Gordon, who signed with Indiana after reneging on an early verbal commitment to the University of Illinois.

Badgers embarrassed themselves and the entire B1G tonight with as poor of a game as I have seen from a B1G team in decades...and maybe ever. I kept waiting for them to do something right...and waiting...and waiting. Sad. I know they have talent and good coaching, but they performed like a bunch of scrubs and made every wrong play all night. Normally, I like watching them play...but tonight it was painful. I have no explanation or insight other than the memory of dreadful play.
Maybe it's personal bias because of how personally painful the game was, but I feel like with the expectations that are put on a 1 seed and the popularity of picking us to win it all, our '21 loss to Loyola is right up there. We looked totally lost the entire game and Loyola took us completely out of our game from tip to final buzzer. I think we're exorcising those demons tonight though!
