This just in…Dawson Garcia is a punk and his season is over. Hulman Center was loud today.

It bothers me that all of the coaches in college basketball have put in the time and effort to build their careers, and then there’s Scheyer, who is handed one of the top jobs in college basketball after a couple of years as an AC.
Some might say he ki$$ed a lot of a$$ and lost certain body parts to get where he is. Some go about things a different route :)

I do not understand why they schedule this way. have 1 game and then a break and then 2nd game and a break. Then throw 6 games in 2 time slots. Why not 2 games per the 4 time slots. And I may be an old man shouting at clouds, but why a 9:40 eastern start on a Sunday,

Saturday games should be 1 / 3:30 / 6 / 8:30 PM ET
Sunday games should be noon / 2:30 / 5 / 7:30 PM ET

In both cases, if you want to start one game 15 minutes later so you have a game going on at all times, that can work.

Fully agree that the long breaks between games are dumb and that a 9:40 ET start on a Sunday is really stupid (but I guess we know that academics aren't really important). By doing this, you also get games down to just two stations (CBS and TBS) from the second round on.

First of all, he was an assistant coach and then an associate for a total of 8 years, not a couple. Secondly, you think Coach K would agree to hand it over to Scheyer if he didn’t know he’s good enough and can do the job? Lastly, if the college bball coach market works like how you expect, all the blue bloods would have the oldest coaches, then the next tier the next oldest batch and so on. Clearly that’s not how it works.

I am anxious to see what type a game Northwestern can give to UCONN
Given what we are seeing so far with these games, I have a bad feeling UConn is going to boat race Northwestern fast. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not optimistic.

They had two wide open threes they missed. That’s not on the coach. Guys gotta make shots.
Had 3 TO’s and possession at about 1 min to go and the offense was in disarray but did not choose to use one and they took a forced shot, which was missed.
Should have been more aggressive and foul when clock got under 2, especially on Kulek, to get possible steal or build up fouls for bonus in case it was needed later, which it was. They had to try and foul in order to get Marquette in the bonus and at the line under a min to go.
Not fouling immediately when the clock was under 30 secs. was a waste of valuable seconds.
All of that was on the coach.
