For me, Kentucky is the only place that it logically makes sense for Adam to go if his only ambition is the NBA. Its the one place that is ran completely different than Illinois. Calipari is only about putting guys into the league. He doesn't care about team success. DeAaron Fox flat out said that in a podcast recently. Most KY fans HATE this about Calipari. You read any KY board, most want him fired. They want a coach that is all about Kentucky first, like Underwood is all about Illinois first. If I'm Calipari, I say to Adam "I've coached tweener guards into the NBA. De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, Devin Booker, Immauel Quickley. If you want to play in the NBA, there's no better place to come than here. You'll play against top notch players in practice, and we'll have NBA scouts at our practices. There's nobody in college more connected to the NBA than me. My sole goal for your career is to get you drafted"
And again, I'm not going to slight Adam Miller if his primary ambition is the NBA. If he doesn't care about being a legend at Illinois, or team success, or the intangible things that Illinois offers in graduating/future networking/etc, but whose sole focus is the NBA - then Kentucky would be the right school for him. I look at Kentucky like a trade school for basketball. If all you want out of your college career is just a stopover till the NBA, then go there. If you want the complete college experience, to be beloved forever by a connected fanbase, then come to Illinois. Each person values things differently.
