Interesting that this is the rumor he wants to shut down and not all the murmurs that his mom is the reason he's transferring.Miller just turned down the news on Insta about mom and tickets. TIFWIW.

He said that his mom had nothing to do with it...Interesting that this is the rumor he wants to shut down and not all the murmurs that his mom is the reason he's transferring.

Possibly.... But I think Curbelo getting a starting job when Ayo got hurt and showing he has moxie, getting freshman player of the week plus the 6th man award.... Put doubts in AM mind as to his status and future minutes as an Illini going forward.Interesting that this is the rumor he wants to shut down and not all the murmurs that his mom is the reason he's transferring.
I don't want to put words in BU's mouth, but I don't think one or the other was ever the plan. I think Underwood foresaw Curbelo and Miller on the court at the same time. I think it was a big piece of the post-Kofi, post-Ayo future.Possibly.... While I'm personally not upset with his decision, I don't know why people think others have to fall on one end of the spectrum? It is mind-numbing reading negative hot takes on Miller entering the transfer portal at the same time we are celebrating the addition of 2 impact players via the exact same portal.
Also, as illiniboss33 noted, I love my Peoria boys on the squad. Hope he sticks with us.
Disappointment and anger are two very different emotions. While I'm personally not upset with his decision, I don't know why people think others have to fall on one end of the spectrum?
People always want to maximize their gain. I've seen no one advocate against the transfer portal. Fans are just disappointed that they lost an impact freshmen starter. The majority seem willing to lose Hamlin to the portal so maybe people aren't as one dimensional as you're painting them

Illini fans, like every other fan base, will always find a way to rationalize and justify their hypocrisies. It is mind-numbing reading negative hot takes on Miller entering the transfer portal at the same time we are celebrating the addition of 2 impact players via the exact same portal.

And disappointment often leads to anger. Let's not police how people react. Anyone who has a following in the public is going to be faced with scrutiny. No matter what we say or do, fans are going to go out there and say stupid stuff. Let's shun the ones who say negative stuff to players directly - even though these players expect it and have dealt with it their whole life.Disappointment and anger are two very different emotions.
Let's stop doing that, too.Unsure why it's mind-numbing. Omar Payne needs a change of scenery more than anyone and Utah has a new head coach. People aren't criticising the portal, they are criticising AM.
Except a) you have no idea if Payne needs a change of scenery more than Miller and b) the search for altruistic reasons behind everyone transferring here and self-centered reasons for everyone transferring away makes the real meaning behind the negativity glaringly transparent.Unsure why it's mind-numbing. PSA .
Adam miller is unbelievably talented and us Peoria folk hope he stays suitied for the orange and blue..
By the way He is WAY MORE AWARE OF THIS FORUM than you know!
This baffles me. So it is terrible to say it to his face, but to attempt to sway others' perspective of him on a public forum is a-okay.And disappointment often leads to anger. But this forum is a harmless outlet that people are using to vent out their frustration.
He's not going to put his mom on blast in a public forum so take whatever you heard with a large grain of salt.
You are, and that's the point. Many have turned AM's decision into a reflection on his principles and character, relying on unsubstantiated rumors as the basis for some of these criticisms. That is, imo at least, taking things too far.My bad, I thought I was on an online college sports forum for a second.

People are always going to have speculative opinions you may/may not agree with. Do you get to dictate what people say to their friends, too? We agree that players have a right to make the best decision for themselves. We disagree in that I don't think you have a right to limit free speech and impose your beliefs on others. Not everyone is going to agree with you. Players know they'll be criticized. Everyone receives unwarranted criticism. You've just chosen to be the white knight for a public figure you followThis baffles me. Being angry at a player for utilizing the available tools to best situate himself for success long-term is at best unreasonable. Pointing that out is not "policing".
Meant root...as you knowI hope this forum has little impact on Adam's decisions. I enjoy it, and enjoy the banter, but we are a small portion of Illini Nation. I am really glad he came to Illinois and hope he stays. But we all make decisions we think are best. And if moving elsewhere is the best decision for him, I support him. Enjoyed watching AM play for the Illini, and will enjoy watching him play anywhere. Will route against him if he plays against the Illini, or against the Wizards (don't laugh) in the future, but want nothing but success for him.
