Things are happening at LSU.

Their hiring of Kim Mulkey as women’s basketball coach – stealing her away from Baylor – is still getting talk around the National basketball world.

And the SEC in general is giving notice that they want their roundballers to be seen Nationally as dominant as the footballers already are. And if they get that way, the rest of the Nation is in for it as they will draw even more future top talent to the Southeast.

Last season the SEC got two teams in the final 2021 poll out of the Top Six. Alabama #5 and Arkansas #6. LSU at 19-10 was a solid Third in the final league standings.

Best of luck in the future to Adam Miller. Hope you found your place to shine.

The Illini will be fine. A little less drama and undercurrent to deal with in the new campaign ahead is a good thing. After a great season in the National spotlight, these guys are ready to take the next step forward. And Belo will do some things on the floor no one has ever seen before.

Illinois will be fine. As long as no one else bolts, this team will will have strength and depth. As to Adam, he’s more likely to be the star at LSU, while at Illinois he’d be part of a constellation.
That's brilliant '70 John.

Huge difference is that Thomas was the #1 player in SEC and Adam Miller was #73 in BIG.
Never could understand why we didn't go hard after Cam rather than Miller or in addition too. Oak Hill kid just like Kofi. We were there
already. Kid is an offensive machine.

I don’t know where you’re getting these rankings but yes Cam Thomas is very very good and was an absurdly efficient scorer. But they’re both high ranked recruits & smaller combo guards. Hence “kind of” alike

As much as I don't like an instate top player leave often times they need to make the right move to better their situation.

As a parent of 3 travel soccer players, coaches are always looking for better talent. We have been burned by our loyalty to these teams/coaches multiple times.

I can see him wanting to go somewhere that will give him the ball more. Andre is going to have it here and he didn’t like it. All fine. Entering the portal out of the blue and not telling coaches and players isn’t the way to do it. He’s a kid, hopefully he matures and has great success but I have a hard time seeing him with the ball in is hands in the NBA. 🤷‍♂️
I think he's hoping to be a Mike Conley type!

All Illini energy now on retaining our recent Illini recruits, I say. I have spoken.
Yep, another big would be nice if Kofi doesn't come back but other than that I'd say we're in pretty good shape especially since IIRC we have one more scholly remaining even if Kofi does come back so I think BU will get us one more good one from the portal.

Of course I'm assuming we don't lose any of the players that just signed.

I guess. He doesn’t have the handles to get to the basket and doesn’t finish well when he happens to get there from what I saw. Maybe all he needs is the opportunity but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Following the path of Jamie Brandon. I predict Miller will have a similar career there. Still wish Jamie wouldn't have quit the bridge program and stuck it out at Illinois. He was a big time get at the time.

I actually wonder if academics played a small part. I've got to imagine our standards are higher.
