For many reasons, this is what I expected.Looking at the schedule to start the year, this looked like the toughest game of the season. Top 10 team, on the road, early in the season before the team could really find a rhythm.
And they still were in this game with 2 minutes to play, despite not converting the freebies and turning the ball over 13 times.
They were a top scoring offense in the country last year because they had Terrence Shannon and Domask. Shannon was a freak of nature that could create instant offense without any help.I feel like there should be a hard stop after the bolded.
You like that we're one of the top scoring offenses in the country, but you want to see the same points scores differently?

I'll give credit to Brad for listening to Jay Wright and letting Domask play point last year but I don't think Brad is a great X's and O's guy offensively and I think that's part of the reason he's struggled in March(and why he got thoroughly out coached by Porter Moser when he got a 1 seed).
Dra was missing at the end...which was surprising given he was a spark to our comeback at beginning of 2d half.I subscribe to the it doesn't matter who the first five are, it matters who the last five are.
If you're getting the bulk of the minutes and are on the floor at the end of the game....that's what matters.
Being in the starting five is a pride thing.
Agree with your comment on KJ.Team played fine in the second half. First half too many missed open shots and free throws.
Thought KJ did not have a good game. His shot was way off target and too many turnovers.
Riley subbed in for White 3:08 minutes into game with AL leading 12-11. White had 2 points and 2 rebounds when he went out, and finished half with 4 points and team-leading 5 rebounds. Riley had 3 points in first half.As seen in the game today, the beginning of the game can set the tone.
Completely disagree here.
Expect Coach O to teach him a thing or two this season. The drop coverage and help side defense are really bad. If I were playing against us I would run that high pick and roll every time. Ivisic is super gifted offensively but gives it all back on the other side of the court.
Got to remember that Morez was in foul trouble for most of the game. The analytics don’t paint the whole picture. Tomi is offensively gifted, but he got exposed on defense. The big runs or comebacks it seemed Morez was on the floor or made a big play..
I agree but you're kind of forced into with a big like Ivisic(and Kofi before him).I know it's BU's philosophy over the last few years, but dear god do I hate drop coverage defense. So many easy shots given up.
Brad Underwood has had 3 top 10 offenses in 8 years as a high major head coach across two separate programs and 3 separate groups of players including the #1 offense in the country at Oklahoma St in 2017,They were a top scoring offense in the country last year because they had Terrence Shannon and Domask. Go watch UConn play. Or Kentucky, Oakland, Princeton, Alabama, or even Nebraska.Brad Underwood has had 3 top 10 offenses in 8 years as a high major head coach across two separate programs and 3 separate groups of players including the #1 offense in the country at Oklahoma St in 2017,
Even at Steven F Austin, he had the 31st best offense in KenPom. The year before he arrived, they were ranked 276th.
IMO, that makes him one of the top offensive minds in college basketball.
We have to learn how to take away the paint on defense. They lived there and scored, it seemed like, every time the ball touched the paint
JMO... I didn't feel it. There was that one stretch in the first half but it felt like the ball was getting to the right spots mostly throughout.lol we were just passive on D.
But we scored 87 on a legit Top 5 team while missing 99.9999999% of our FTs, and looking discombobulated on offense most of the game.
Keep working and…climbing.
Is Groce’s ladder in a closet somewhere?
Maybe we need the ladder.
