Since Belo announced today, I'm sure the staff new in advance. I had a bad feeling this tweet may have been reference to Belo at the time. Now that we know for sure, am I dumb to ponder this?
I doubt that was a reference to curbelo. Was probably more of a reference to the college landscape in general. Chester tweets about games all the time, I don't think he does much subliminal messaging.

Belo is probably the most unique and exciting player that will be part of the college basketball season next year. Sad to see him go. I think he's gonna have an All-American potential season. His on-the-ball defense was outstanding at times as well which was underappreciated- and rebounding. Despite all his mistakes with careless passes and dribbling turnovers, this hurts the team for sure. Hoping he's not in the big 10. BUT, isn't Epps a PG? And also this Sky kid if we land him? If so, we are OK at PG next year even if inexperienced. And if Podz stays, is the jury out that he wouldn't play some PG as well?
Yes I think Belo is a once in a generation type player.

I'm sad to see him transfer. Obviously, this was not a good season for Belo.
However, according to fi.com, he played 367 minutes, and logged 53 turnovers, averaging 2.8 to's per game or .144 turnovers per minute played. For the sake of comparison, Trent played 1067 minutes and committed 55 to's. He averaged 1.78 to's per game or .051 turnovers per minute. Plummer played 994 minutes with 43 to's. Averaged 1.3 per game or .043 turnovers per game.
When one looks at 3 pt. shooting percentages, Frazier shot .328, Plummer .408 and Curbelo shot .176.
I'd love to have seen him decide to stay and work on these percentages, but given these stats maybe it's better he moves on.

Pretty bummed about this. Was rooting for him to succeed this year and looking forward to him reaching his potential next year. Just hope we can field a great team without him. Big shoes to fill.

I wish the best for AC and hope he does well at his next stop. He was fun to watch and his highlights put the eyes of fans and recruits on our program in a good way. It saddens me that the staff couldn’t find a way to blend his individual style into Underwood’s more team style, but it isn’t a big surprise.
Ball dominance rarely ends in championships in basketball and AC was one of the most ball dominant guards in college hoops since Kyrie. The downside of all that dribbling is that teammates tend to stand around on offense and become disengaged on defense. I had hoped a healthy AC might have an upside of Kyrie or Chris Paul, but with his poor outside shooting....he might end up being closer to Rondo or Ricky Rubio if he makes it to the league.
Either way, I’m excited that Underwood will bring in someone that will fit the more traditional point guard role to get the ball to Kofi and kick it out to our three point shooters....we will be just fine next year.
Yes if the others on the offense moved better without the ball and could finish at the rim Curbelos full potential could have been realized. We had no slashers with length and that ability.

I agree, but I couldn't help but think about Belo when I saw it, and now we know the timeline adds up. I obviously don't know Chester, but it would seem out of character/unprofessional to throw shade like that in the heat of the moment. Either way, it seems like an awkward coincidence as I'm sure they're linked up.

Any idea if bad chemistry with teammates this year was a big reason why AC left?

If you asked me to pick between keeping Coleman or Curbelo, I would take Coleman probably 100% of the time. Coleman just fits in better with where we want to go as a roster.

Andre's regression as a shooter this year was very concerning..

I enjoyed Belo's time here. For him to grow as a player he needs to learn how to shoot.

If I had to guess, I would say the tweet is in reference to Wendell Moore.

Been busy at work today & i come on here & see this. Sad to see him leave. He worked on his jumper over the summer but it didnt show in games. Injury totally knocked him off course. Look for Miami to get involved. I think they were finalist 2 years ago.

I mean his teammates and staff had kind of had enough of him by the end but probably not the reason he’s transferring
If that was the case I feel even more sad for him. Apparently he or no one around him realized the extent of his injuries and symptoms. Just think about it, they put him back on the court for a few games before they sat him out again and how many times after he got back out there did we see him get his head hit again. We were all waiting to see if he would go down again. We all have seen concussions end careers. I think this is a teachable moment for coaches and players alike. A lot more caution needs to be exercised with these types of injuries. Whatever people think of Curbelo they need to remember the saying walk ten miles in a man's moccasins before you judge him.

Frazier and Plummer struggled to penetrate and collapse the defense. Without Ayo the team was left with only AC that could do that. Unfortunately this year when AC did that he either couldn’t finish at the rim, made a poor decision or threw a pass that his teammate fumbled. In the Marquette game ( when he likely was concussed) he kept getting his shot blocked at the rim instead of pulling up or dropping it off. In the NCAA tournament he made a few passes that Kofi, Hawkins or Payne mishandled.

Hell of a talent but BU has earned the faith of the fans to replace and continue winning like he did when Mark Smith, Alan Griffin and Adam Miller left.

Oh they were extremely cautious with him. They didn’t do anything until he got cleared by the docs. They weren’t malicious in anything they did and didn’t try and rush him back in any way. Yes the concussion played a part but so did some other factors.
