If CH comes back, he will take control of this team. Is it as visibly and vocally upset after todays game. I have a feeling it has a lot to do with Epps and MM never running the plays called and being lazy on D. CH was clearly over it.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Ricky Council IV scored 18 points and Arkansas survived some anxious moments in the second half against an Illinois team that wouldn’t go away, holding on to beat the Illini 73-63 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
Devo Davis had 16 points for the eighth-seeded Razorbacks, who used relentless defense and rebounding to build big leads but couldn’t get comfortable until the final minute. Arkansas (21-13) faces top-seeded Kansas on Saturday in the second round of the West Region.
Terrence Shannon Jr., held scoreless the first 16 minutes, finished with 20 points to lead the Illini (20-13). It was the first time in five tournament appearances since 2011 that Illinois didn’t make it out of the first round.
The Razorbacks were up by double digits in the middle of the first half, but no lead has been safe this season. In seven games they blew leads with scoring droughts of five minutes or longer.

6 more turnovers, 11 fewer rebounds, twice as many missed three point shots.

Goes back to how we remained a collection of indviduals rather than a team, the parts just did not fit together very well.

We made 10 3 point shots against Texas and 12 3 point shots agasint UCLA
That never happended again.
It seemed to me Coleman’s and Brad’s relationship was….teetering last season. Most of us were concerned about Coleman transferring. Now it appears they are solidly in each others corner. Coleman can be frustrating at times, but IMHO he was this team’s best all-around player. Much maturity and growth when compared to last season. And who knows what his offensive numbers would have been if we had PG who could actually get the ball to him within ten feet of the basket ( and CH was more aggresive). I really hope he comes back.
MM reminds me of a baseball pitcher who lost the strike zone and just cannot fox it.
Because as lacking as he was at PG skills he was still the best option. Skyy quit. Epps couldn’t defend well enough. TSJ was worse than CH at point. Harris is a worse shooter than Hawkins.

I don't know that you have to proclaim him so officially, but Coleman is clearly the team captain in my book. Go ahead and put a "C" on his jersey; I won't mind at all. He deserves the honor.

How about some offensive movement. So Tired of watching 1 guy with the ball and 4 other guys "stand" at the 3 point line waiting for the ball.
After RJ's great minute - there should have been more effort to get him another shot - nope we went back to what got us in a hole and ultimately lost.
Have to improve roster BBIQ and I know we didn't have a PG but our ball handling is below average and that is saying it nicely.

lets not hang our hat on 20 wins when they used to play 25-28 games - 20 wins was a nice accomplishment. Now they play 30+ and upto 40 games

I believe he let 2-3 others out of there LOI that year so he basically signed them. Your talking semantics.
Unfortunately, I still think they were our best chance to win. I love our freshman but without the transfers, we would have been down there with Minnesota.
Coleman has a lot of positives, and he's really, really versatile. I'd put Dain above him though --he really surprised me. Not sure why we didn't run more plays through him. I mean, I kinda know --this team fell in love with the 3 ball and kept thinking the shooting would get better.
When they moved the ball, they were a lot better. TSJ doesn't need much space to be disruptive, and I think when he had good games, it changed the character of the offense.
This team had flashes, but the way they finished makes me think the winning culture took a step back.
Well it was March pre-transfer portal era. He couldn’t just let everyone walk; he’d have nobody to dress that fall. What I’m talking about is identifying, during the recruiting process, players whom you think will fit and develop in your program. He wasn’t out in gyms watching Trent and Damonte with their club and HS teams. The previous staff was. It stinks Feliz didn’t get a Covid year as he could have fit the bill. It remains that BU and his staff(s) have recruited (in the most classical and well-understood sense of that word) one guard who has stayed for a 3rd year in his program. Maybe he doesn’t even care, but I wish it weren’t the case.
Eh, not so much. They were playing 33-35 games all through the 80s. The 79-80 team played 35 games. Thats been nearly 45 years ago.
Although I do agree with your general sentiment. Of course we want to strive for 25+ wins and deep tournament runs. We've done really well in conference play thr last few years, but we aren't seeing the success when it really counts.

Brad's offense is predicated on offensive movement. I'm as tired of watching the iso and hero ball as anyone, but that isn't Brad's scheme, that's guys playing their own game. If you want to knock Brad, knock him for not benching guys when they don't run the offense.
I remember saying something similar to this a decade or so ago. And then 20 wins eluded us for the next several years.
Don’t take it for granted. We made the tourney; had 20+ wins.
In some ways we under achieved, but in others we fought through some adversity and had some success.
BUT I think we are at a crossroads. Brad has some decisions to make in how he builds a team, how he manages said team, and maybe even regarding his general bball philosophy.
It's a tough spot because we had a short bench for a lot of the year, and then Skyy left. Not much room to sit guys to make a point. Seems like Brad hoped they would play through it and figure it out. They didn't. Hopefully lesson learned.
