Anyone know if players will be present in the "green room" or if it's all virtual? Wonder what Ayo's gonna do; presume he's expected too late to be there in person....hopefully a big party at home surrounded by his friends and family.

Always painful watching that one guy who through he'd go early that keeps slipping and is the last one there in person....

They released the green room invites last week. 20 invites. Ayo was not invited to attend according to the list.

I hate NBA draft analysis, even though I pour over them every day. I think it's hilarious (and pretty sketchy) that the draft experts will consistently talk about a player's achievements to fit their narrative. When you read analysis putting Ayo in the second round, it doesn't say First Team All-American, NPoY finalist, and Bob Cousy Award Winner. It may just say All-B1G. I really want Ayo to go in the first round. Teams don't have the commitment to second rounds players.

Just the other night, I was watching a YouTube video on the 14 players selected before Giannis Antetokounmpo, and then a couple other videos in the same vain. NBA teams fall in love with hype. I wonder how many good players never got their shot past camp and summer league because the team had to sign a sub-par first round pick, and play them.

Ayo should be a first round pick. I believe he will be. He is a lot more NBA ready than a ton of project players NBA teams will roll the dice on. With his work ethic, Ayo still has a higher ceiling than he's getting credit for, just because he played three years in college.

Recent CBSSPORTS mock has Ayo going 26th to Denver....if he goes around a spot like this at least he will be on a contender.
I loved watching the Nuggets this year and I think it would be a good fit. He would have a chance for some early playing time with Murray out for a while still with his knee injury. Plus, playing with Murray and Jokic would be great for Ayo; lots of learn from those two both on a work ethic and basketball understanding front.

He seems to be slowly dropping in most mocks, really hope he doesn't go in the 2nd. Producing 1st round draft picks just holds so much more weight for recruiting.

The key to mock drafts seems to be to update them early and often. Eventually one version or another will get at least close and the clicks are pure gold.

Saw two mocks from The Athletic today. One author had Ayo going #25 to the Clippers. The other had him at #30 to the Jazz with a range of anything from #20-35. He also noted that he would be surprised to see him "get beyond this range" at #30.

I could see him going on the earlier side due to his professionalism and overall character. I think those things get overlooked quite a bit in mocks. Sure, athleticism, skill, etc. are main factors in drafting someone - but these are businesses hiring employees. If you have two options for your pick, and one's character trumps the other's, that could likely be the deciding factor in who they select.

A couple of sites evaluated an aggregate mock draft. Two had Ayo at #33, one at #23, FWIW.

It’s almost like the oddsmakers know how to set the O/U well

Can someone explain the hype around Franz Wagner? 12PPG with an average of 31.5 minutes per game? Not overly explosive or athletic. 32% 3ptFG%. I dont get it.
And while you’re at it, Cam Thomas please? Watched some of his highlights. Not overly quick/explosive. Decent form on jumper but shot like 32% from 3 and 40% overall. Really just looks like a chucker. I don’t see a borderline lottery pick.

Ayo is longer, a much more fluid athlete, and had much better rebound and assist numbers. I get that he’s 2 years older and his shot mechanics aren’t great but no question who I would take.

I guess I can kind of see why AM wanted to take Thomas’ place at LSU. I think Miller’s highlights look better and if going down there and chucking it 25 times a game gets him into the lottery next year, God bless him.
