I went to verbal commits and saw their list of transfers. Think there might be even more, but when I saw MLT's name, it made me wonder how good these guys are. So, I looked up a few of them. Not seeing a lot of prowess here so far. Patrick Steeves out of Harvard might be most interesting, as he has good assist #'s.

Player Name From
Dwayne Morgan UNLV, 6-8 Soph, played 15 m/g,
Malik Marquetti USC, 6-6 Soph, plays 5 m/g
Malik Martin USC, 6-11 Soph, plays 5 m/g
Darion Clark USC, 6-7 Jr, plays 8 m/g
Savon Goodman ASU, 6-6 Jr, plays almost 20 m/g, has some pretty good #'s
Austin Arians Milwaukee, 6-6 Jr, plays 33 m/g, has some good #'s in the HOrizon
Kanayo Obi-Rapu, Jr. Longwood, 6-3 Soph, plays 28 m/g, Big South conference
Patrick Steeves Harvard, 6-7 Sr., Grad student transfer? Plays 20 m/g, good assist #'s
Jon Severe Fordham, 602 Jr, plays 15-17 m/g, appears to be good defender with good steal #'s
Jimmy Paige Siena, played fewer minutes this year than last, 6-4 Soph Guard
Donovan Gilmore College of Charleston, saw minutes go down from 16 to 7 this year. 6-7 Soph
Jackson Davis Butler, 6-8 Soph F, 6 m/g
J.T. Escobar Ole Miss, 6-2 Fresh, 5 m/g, shot 32% and 60% from the line
Evan Maxwell Liberty, 6-10 Soph, 22 m/g, 10 p/g, 5 boards in the
Hansel Atencia Liberty, 5-10 Fresh, under 4 m/g,
Mike LaTulip Illinois, we know the story
Jordan Andrews Youngstown State, 6-5 Fresh, plays 20 m/g, made 48 3's at 37% clip.
Pierre' Hayden Hampton, listed as a grad asst., don't even know why he is on this list
Amir Smith Rice, 6-6 fresh, got 4 m/g on a bad team

I'm sure there is more that can be done with this, this is just the amount of time that I had.

There will be hundreds more. Literally.

Malcolm Bernard is transferring from Florida A&M. Led the team in points, rebounds, and assists. He's only 6'5, but maybe he can play the 4 if Black is gone.

Is there a timetable that transfers have to make a decision by? I know this can drag out for a while.

More or less they have until it's time to enroll for fall classes. Khalid Lewis last year for example. Most do so before summer classes though I believe.

Not really a timetable, but few have announced their intentions to transfer. Some players wait until the end of the Spring semester to take visits.

Daniel Giddens transferring from tOSU. Ouch. He could be really good after sitting out a year.

Marvin Clark transferring from MSU. Probably doesn't hurt them given the class they have coming in. And probably part of the reason he's leaving.

And also Javon Bess

Forgot about Clark...He got a lot of playing time in their tourny run last year, but I don't remember hearing about him at all this year. I would gladly take him.

Clark leaving opens a scholarship for Josh Jackson. If he committed it would be a massive addition to what is already a ridiculous class for them. If they got him and Davis decided to return I'd think they'd be favorites for the title next year.

Huge news for all other B1G teams. tOSU was a dark horse contender in the B1G next year with all of their young talent. This is a huge blow for them

Kids a lunatic. He was very entitled in high school attending a private school in Sparta, NJ after coming from Queens. Made him think being good at basketball could get him through any trouble he created, and it doesn't work like that. Think Jereme Richmond here.
Amazing -- you're referring to Pope John HS in Sparta! Didn't expect anything on here to hit so close to home.

PJ is not a New Jersey private HS school powerhouse, but I co-coached lower school AAU basketball for 5 years with PJ's former head Varsity Coach. Our sons are the same age. I can't believe he got a recruit like that after I moved from NJ.

Grant Weatherford RS fr transferring from Purdue

That is one of the oddest transfers. He's only going to have 3 seasons of eligibility. Imagine if he tore an acl sometime in the next couple of years, he would only have 2 years of playing time out of 5.

Proof that some folks don't plan well and only live for the moment:(
