Honestly though, I feel for the kids.

Hate hate hate the timing, probably the best move overall but man, the kids have gone through so much.

something about this feels rushed and not what i would have expected in JW first big move

Loren Tate on the firing "Whitman is probably thinking...why pretend this is going to work when we know it's not going to work."

Maybe it's actually a better time to hire a coach - no competition.

He told us he was going to make bold decisions.

I'm going to give JW the benefit of the doubt on this. It's his first day on the job, let's not pull the pitchforks out just yet.

I'm waiting until the press conference to do that. But not telling the students first is a pretty pathetic move if you ask me.

How does an assistant, even an OC, warrant that kind of buyout? That seems really, really high.

I'm wondering if maybe the first official meeting between Cubit and Whitman did not go well, and here we are.

Probably in the contract signed before JW took over.

I can wait until the presser to make a judgment, but I hope he's meeting with them soon. They're already lashing out/whining on twitter.

May not sit well with the student-athletes who he swore would put first with every decision they make...

Maybe he has a big deal in the works and it is really time sensitive? Trying to think of extraneous circumstances. Hard to wrap my head around it.

JW is already at the point where his inexperience is going to show or he's going to prove that he's smarter than the rest of us.

Have you been to IL before? Rushing to judgement is the first rule!

Gotta wonder if the $$ for Ryan is part of what did the Cubits in. Though given the buyout for both, not a bad deal for them. Get the cash and don't have to work for it.
