9! WJC gold medalists the last two years for Hawks' prospects. Pretty good.

Nazar had a great tournament. He's recovered (from major surgery) very well. Thinking the Hawks will sign him when Michigan's season ends. Looking forward to seeing him as Bedard's linemate (RW).

That would be an aggressive timeline. They need to do something though. This team is hard to watch even with Bedard.

Not only that, Moore was moved up to the first line to use his speed to disrupt the opposition. Played well.

Nazar will definitely be signed when his season is done. Wonder if they’ll bring him up fir a cup of coffee at the end of the year…

Nazar: yep, I think the Hawks will burn his first year.

Moore: while there's stuff to like/love, he's gonna need some more seasoning.

Rinzel: ditto

Moore & Rinzel are gonna be back for next year's WJC, and they should be mainstays

Nazar had 8 assists the first couple of games and then was held off the scoresheet after pool play

Media reports are saying that the Blackhawks will have a Winter Classic game at Wrigley Field next year against the Blues.

While I love the entire Winter Classic games... this upcoming game should NOT be held at Wrigley Field again. The Blackhawks are NOT simply a North Side team. They are supposed to represent all of Chicagoland.

The White Sox should have worked to snag this Winter Classic game for the South Side. And they either failed... did not try... or did not have a chance.

Come on, Blackhawks. The North Side already has another pro team. Time to represent ALL of Chicagoland.

With all due respect, the casual hockey fan is more likely to watch the game if it's played at Wrigley than Guaranteed Rate. Plus I don't know if the setup for the venue on the south side is one that really works for a game like the Winter Classic.

There have been outdoor games at much larger stadiums than the Sox ball park. The size of the rink will fit in any ball field. And all the venues have worked OK.

It just doesn't seem right that the North Side gets multiple outdoor games and the South Side as yet has none. The Sox Owner probably hasn't even tried to get the game. But he also hasn't bothered to put a decent ball club on the field in most years so I guess that isn't surprising. Here's a thought: Have the Bulls play an outdoor game at the Sox park. That would be fun to see.

I really enjoy the outdoor hockey and I wouldn't mind if every franchise in the NHL got to host one outdoor game a year each season. It would still keep the outdoor games special since it's only once-a-year in a city and everyone gets in on it without having to wait for years.

I think for all the expense that goes into it the game needs to generate national attention to make it worth while. Can’t imagine the NHL has an appetite for a Blue Jacket and Coyote matchup outdoors, where they spend tons of money for nothing.

Each team would be responsible for the bulk of the cost. And it would create great buzz in their community. You mentioned the Coyotes. That's a good example of a franchise that needs to create interest as the future of the team where it is has been an ongoing issue. They would really benefit from getting people excited and involved.

And if you get a look at the player salaries these days... even journeymen players are getting multiple millions a year in salary. There is money to be had for franchises to use. Also, the NHL is working to grow the game globally. This kind of thing can be exported to other places beyond North America.
