Illini in OC

In. The. Alley.
Arriving Wed afternoon. Walking distance from TD. Nosebleed seats - literally top row. Bringing binoculars (because Hubble is not currently available)
Looking forward to connecting and meeting with my fellow Loyalty-ites.

Where is best meetup location prior to Thursday session? Is there a tailgate/pep rally/designated Ilini bar?

I'm sure there will be a designated Illini bar. Another meeting option is Hub Hall, which is a food hall with about 15 different places, incluiding a bar, right next to TD Garden.

And if you have never eaten at any, and I mean any, of the Italian restaurants in the North End, you simply must do this. You will check off a life long item in your bucket list.
And walkable for most to TD Garden! Plus the chance to join the war over whether Mike's or Modern makes the better cannoli!

Thought they were shark bowls.

Either way, I was a participant in WAY too many blue bowls of liquid courage.
1) I could have sworn they were officially called shark tanks, but maybe that’s what my buddies and I called them.

2) I was normally already too drunk to remember the official name anyway when I was ordering them. :ROFLMAO:

I highly recommend the Florentine Cafe, Mario's, Carmelina's, Davio's, or Ristorante Limoncello.

i just dined at Florentines 10 days ago, and the ragu was every bit as good as what I had in Sienna last fall . . . .

Ask me how I know . . .😉

This group of alums https://www.facebook.com/BostonIllini has been watching about a 20 minute walk from the Garden.

Warehouse Bar and Grill
40 Broad Street
They did this Warehouse place for the BTT but more recently they pivoted to a spot called Teddy's On The Hill for the Duquesne game.

I've floated two texts to fellow 2011 alums regarding an Illini bar spot for this weekend - one my college roommate/lifelong Boston resident, the guy that's putting me up for the weekend. The other a Chicago southside guy like myself who's now on the air for NESN out there.

Will advise.

Some other ideas - The Fours (166 Canal) or Sullivan's Tap (168 Canal). Anyone up for wearing an extra orange shirt to share for UConn fans to wear after their game?

You can all thank me for my part when we will the National Championship on 4/8.

My in-person attendance record:
Losses Wins
Michigan 89 Minneapolis 89
Arizona 01
UNC 05 Rosemont 05
Loyola 21

In addition, as you can see from my avatar, I was at the 08 Rose Bowl showing additional evidence of my bad karma. I was at Game 3 of the 16 World Series (Cubs lost for you Cardinal fans) as well as the Bartman Game in 03.

Based on my long-standing multi-sport lack of success, a year ago I planned a trip to England to visit my daughter, followed by a 2 week cruise knowing when the tournament games were scheduled. You will all be happy to know I will be over the mid-Atlantic at tip-off on Thursday. I will be at sea during our 2 Final Four victories. I have done all I can to break my jinx on the team. I ask all of you to do what you can to help the team.

Has anyone tried drugstore magnifiers for this purpose? Does it work?
