Georgia Dogs 42 Florida State 3......halftime. Mismatch for sure......so much for the FSU whine...
I had the exact same thought. How badly were they hurt by transfers/sit outs?Yeah. FSU is national title contender. This ought to shut them up.
Announcers said that 3 of 4 Dline guys decided not to play.I had the exact same thought. How badly were they hurt by transfers/sit outs?
Fair enough. Still, it would look so much better if they at least looked capable of putting up a fightAnnouncers said that 3 of 4 Dline guys decided not to play.
Then, their Dbackfield is undergoing as big a transform that we went through from last season so the majority of them chose not to play.
So, major hurt.
Yeah, in total control of the game then with only a bit of the 4th quarter left, one horrible play after anotherToledo self destructing against Wyoming in the final few minutes
I heard that a total of 40 players from both teams sat it out. Killing the goose that laid the golden eggs. The game may not seem like a big deal for the players, but for fans to pay for hotel and food and transportation and tickets, and then be expected to cough up NIL money…well, these guys are on the way out so it doesn’t matter to them.Fair enough. Still, it would look so much better if they at least looked capable of putting up a fight
Not sure we scored 128 this year...totalSo UGA won their last two postseason games 128-10.
It is absurd that they will end up in the top 4 of this season's final poll, but weren't top 4 for the penultimate poll.
We can only hope, I dislike Bama, but I HATE scUMI think Alabama might smoke Michigan after reading about the latter's OL.
Well, to a certain extent. This year 3 bowl games matter. Next year, 11 games matter?2023: The year that bowl games jumped the shark. The 12-team playoff starting next year will only accelerate the decline of bowl games.
[Maybe not such a bad thing since they're becoming nothing more than postseason exhibition games.]
I may be wrong, but I believe the rules (as minimum as they are) explicitly state NIL deals cannot be tied to playing time. So, I doubt you see that. After the awful bowl games this season—largely driven by holdouts and transfers—programs are likely to adapt quickly by somehow making NIL deals contingent, in some capacity, on playing in bowl game.
They’re being paid like professionals now, so they should be held to a professional standard.
You’re correct. I also assume those rules will become void over the next few years, just as the transfer rules have become void.I may be wrong, but I believe the rules (as minimum as they are) explicitly state NIL deals cannot be tied to playing time. So, I doubt you see that.
The difference is the transfer rules benefit players. Tying NIL deals to playing time hurts players. It’s a player’s market right now. Us fans either need to accept it or remain grumpy. You’re correct. I also assume those rules will become void over the next few years, just as the transfer rules have become void.
