Herbstreit made a good comment right before the third quarter started. Georgia is lining up 1 tight end on each side of the line and simply running them up the middle hash, drawing in Michigan safety and free safety. Georgia is getting one-on-one on the outside. Then huge running lanes in CnD Gaps!

We are not a SEC team
That has nothing to do with having Luke Ford and Daniel Barker as your tight ends, potential NFL football players. lining them up on the field at the same time. have them running up the field drawing in other Defenders/ linebackers and free safeties. that's what I'm saying we had the Personnel to do this. Two of our most talented players we're basically used to block the entire year when they can run and catch and they are a complete mismatch for the opposing team's defense. We are not SEC teams but we could have used certain players differently. I still do not like our OC coordinator. Uh!

We just do not have other SEC-like talent around these two great TEs.
This thing about B10-type of FB is good in the B10. UM > Iowa proved that. But at the NT level (NOT vs. Utah, Oklahoma State, etc) it does not work.
I just do not see ANY B10 team competing on a regular basis with any of the top SEC teams.
As good as BB is ( agreat hire), I just do not see him producing sustainable IL teamS to compete with top teams in the SEC

Wow, Georgia's Defense is one of the best in 3 decades going back to the Miami 80's and early 90's teams. This linebacker they have is a top 5 pick. My goodness! Un real..
The announcers mentioned the delta between the recruits brought in by the two teams . . . Georgia brought in 20 5-stars, ScUM 3 . . . The top of the SEC belongs in the NFL, and NIL is only going to exacerbate the gap.

. I should have made statement: against other Big10 teams. I coached and was taught by some of the best. Phil Fulmer one of them. It's about spacing, down and distance, creating mismatches. starting at the Center who is '0', then adjusting. We could have done this against other big10 opponents. Especially, with our 3 running backs, 2TE's, and 3 capable wideouts. What was our weak link? QB.. I agree with you. It's ashame we won't have both of them back this fall. Let us look at what people in the SEC and B10 say. I bet B10 are extremely happy with 3 5 stars, while SEC top teams are unsatisfied with 20 5 stars.

All I care about is that IL has FAR better players (and coaches) than anyone else. All it means is that Il will have a better chance of winning at a very high level.
We cannot expect IL to make it into the big league IF we are satisfied with 3 stars with high upside (or whatever that is). IL NEEDS more 5* stars than Alabama and Georgia and Clemson and .........
It all starts with that mentality. I do not agree with be the big dog in the B10 West (OK, to start with it is OK). IL needs to kill B10 West, then B10 chap. Kill.

! My mom worked at a car dealership in Champaign in the early 80s we had Mike White as our coach and John Malkovich as our coaches. We had so much talent it was insane. Talent from Dallas Texas! Do you know why? they all drove Chevy Blazers and IrocZ's sports cars from her dealership. 
donors need to step up now because it's legal and we need to get those players into the U of I! no reason we can't do it or facilities are wonderful and Coach BB has put together an outstanding staff. Let's recruit and get these players paid as they should be.
