That was a heavyweight battle of two immensely talented FB teams........Rockem-Sockem bruising tackling with many big plays......

That was the best NON-Illini football game I have witnessed in a long time......kudos to georgia coming back after their loss to bama 37 days before....

I want the Illini to someday approach the level of play from tonight's game....Hope I live long enough...........

Go Illini.............

The ending was fun, especially to see Bama go down. I actually thought it was a bit sloppy. Both coaches played the conservative waiting game till the other team made a mistake. Some uncharacteristic penalties too. That ā€œfumbleā€ by Georgia was a gift by the refs to Bama and the bulldogs got fired up. Iā€™m glad they pulled it out.

In the end, the final score wasnā€™t too far off the UofG-Mich game (34-11 v 33-18 tonight)

I turned it off after the "fumble". To have the same play by both teams called opposite was too much. Recall that Georgia recovered the ball on the first play and ran it in for a touchdown on a very similar play. It was overturned and ruled an incomplete pass (correctly IMHO). Then to have the same thing ruled a fumble, again in favor of Bama, was more than I could handle.

I really had no interest anyway - I mostly turned it on because they were playing in my back yard (Indy). To me, the college football playoff just illustrates the total lack of competitiveness in the sport. I watch and enjoy the regular teams playing each other during the season and in the bowl games, but I seem to get no pleasure from watching the handful of super teams - whether devouring the regular teams or even when they play each other.

Grown men playing football out there. Bama will be back and probably win it all next year. They return Bryce Young, Will Anderson and most of the starters. And they have All-American corner from LSU that transferred after the season as well as GT running back Gibbs, who is a stud, that transferred in.
