Miami has *1* top 25 FPI win all season and so does Notre Dame. Alabama has *5*. BYU has 2.

Give me BYU over Notre Dame and Miami. Leave Alabama.
No way Alabama should be in. They looked like absolutely crap yesterday and they have 3 losses. The favoritism towards the SEC is ridiculous.

And BYU would get annihilated by either ND or Miami. Definitely not close to one of the best 12 teams in the country.

Miami belongs in it and ND belonged in it. IMO ND has a legitimate complaint.

But this is the bed ND makes with their schedule, right? If they want to be category-of-one special unicorns, they’d better beat the playoff-caliber teams, regardless of when they play them.
Yes. I think ND needs to schedule at least 5 or 6 games against the top half of the BIG and SEC and win those games. This year they played 4 P2 games; they lost one game and 2 teams they beat were a combined 0-17 in conference. Otherwise I think ND will live on the bubble and the powerbrokers in the P2 will keep them out. I was surprised that they were ranked as high they were going into this weekend. My guess is the “debate” this weekend was still won by those P2 powerbrokers.

and give up 10 days of practice and deny the lads a holiday trip is selfish, imo
I think both of these programs had their players take a vote, and both opted out. This was as much players as the administration. We should not be surprised with coaching changes. ND on the other hand...sour grapes.

This would be fair if you also required this of Big 12 and ACC teams, but obviously that is not done. Texas Tech and BYU played a combined zero Big 10 and SEC teams. Miami played one bad SEC team and zero Big 10 teams.
