Also, to all of you Illini fans on here who are clinging to the shred of a hope we can make the NCAA Tournament: do not change. I really appreciate those who stick behind our student athletes no matter what, and put the fight in fighting Illini with their belief and resilience.

I'm still watching every minute of every game. Hope knows no boundaries.

I would wait until they drain the swamp, there just could be more beach as a result.:)

I think its quite a bit more likely the ice caps melt and the beach house is underwater anyhow, might be a good time to add it to the pot. :(

If somehow, we get to 9-9, win a BTT game and sweep NW

It's not quite, "if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle", but it would be amazing.

Actually, if their odds are correct, it wouldn't be all that amazing --we have a 1.6% chance of winning out the regular season. It certainly feels like we're out of it, but we face a number of weak teams, and are favored for half the remaining games. It's not inconceivable we get back in the bubble conversation.

AND... :( unfortunately, about the same chance (1.1%) of not winning another game during the regular season....half full / half empty...

Over the years, I have lost a lot of money playing poker to guys that had about a 1.6% chance of winning. The thing about a 1.6% chance is that it actually happens 1.6% of the time.

For the first time ever, the NCAA Tournament selection committee revealed who they currently have as their top 16 seeds for the tournament. Here's how the bracket broke down:

I saw that on this morning. I'm not a huge fan of it, it's unnecessary. I flipped it on just in time to be reminded how far we have fallen. Illinois listed as one of Northwestern's "bad losses" [emoji19]

That's a winner!!

I like it. Florida being so high and no Cincinnati are surprises to me.

Doing something like this sure would've been fun, oh, 10-15 years ago.

Now it's just another depressing reminder of how far we've fallen.

It is possible to imagine winning the tournament, but we would have to start by finishing no worse than tenth in the league. Otherwise, we'd have to play five games in five days, and nobody can survive that gauntlet.

We would also need to be guaranteed that we would not play Purdue, Wisconsin and probably Maryland, since the tourney is almost a home game for the Terps.

Let me have ALL of the above terms, AND give me 100 to 1 odds, and I would happily bet as much as a dollar on the beloved.

I was just looking up some RPI's for kicks. Maryland is the first Big Ten team listed at #19, then Purdue #21, Minnesota #23, and Wisconsin #24. The Illini are down to #67, Indiana #90 and Iowa #120 good gawd...

Yeah not a great year for the Big 10, which makes our season even more of an indictment against Groce

Does winning out not get us in the tournament?

Winning out and making it to Saturday or Sunday of the big ten tourney would probably do it

Not without BTT miracles, no. Win out and win three in the BTT I think its fair to say we have a possability of squeezing in if the field stays this unique. Start rooting against ISU, if you haven't already.
