He's a hack but Lenardi has us as a final four team in his last bracket. I like the matchups until Baylor.

Screw it, looks good to me!

Can I just take a minute today to say that where we are now is much better than 5 years ago? Pretty sure at the end of the Groce era, missing the tourney was an annual event, and rarely were we close.

Now we're arguing about seeding, and unhappy about being as low as we are in a year that we lost >90% of our production from last year.

Brandon Johns is playing a pretty major role on VCU. Another Michigan player who is clearly better off not on Michigan.

The "Spoiler" team shown below is considered to be comfortably in the field. Their combined Q1 and Q2 record is 9-11 compared to our 9-12, but they have a bad loss. Don't think I'll worry about Seth Davis' comments.

You know the program is back when being a 8-10 seed in the tourney is a down year.

It came up because Bart Torvik tweeted at Seth Davis, asking why they're not talking Illinois at our 2-11 record. Davis said that he just talked about it with Jerry Palm. That's how it made it's way to TV.
Interesting. I mean, Auburn and Maryland are 3-10 in Q1 games, that one game makes that much of a difference to call us out? Just because Wisconsin ended up 80 in NET and not 75?

We didn't get the Q1 wins and play well to move ourselves up on the seed line down the stretch. We didn't play bad enough to miss the tournament.

We are 7-1 in Q2 games. No bad losses. 34 NET ahead of Rutgers, Iowa, Northwestern, Mizzou, NC State, Nevada and many others.

We were an 8 seed going into BTT and lost by 3 points to a team that's safely in the tournament and, oh by the way, went on to win two more games and is playing for the Big Ten championship in 20 minutes. The Ohio State loss everyone was upset about, well, Ohio State obviously has showed it's playing really, really well.

Right on the 9/10 line. Will be interesting to see what we get and what matchup is. One more chance to make a run!
See this is why I'm rooting for Penn State today. If not already, no question they move ahead of us with a win, so a greater likelihood we're pushed to 10.

Again, not suggesting we're guaranteed a shot at a 2-seed, but the chance for glory is greater than getting the brakes beaten off us by Kansas/Bama/Houston.

TCU? If so, we both beat Texas. But they didn‘t account for one of UCLA’s five losses…nor did they play in the rock’em sock’em Big Ten. Am I crazy for thinking we could take them? I don’t see a player named “Jalen Pickett” on their roster…

Gotta be Creighton, right? Only thing I don't like about them is they're top 15 in Kenpom (I believe).

Not sure I've ever seen a person call out one team like that. No one is talking about it because the bubble is weak this year and we had a winning record in one of the toughest conferences in the country. Seth Davis has always come off as an extreme hater against Illinois. Even when Illinois does well he it seems like it's a chore for him to give Illinois credit. It's like a 'do I have to?' kind of credit. Out of all the teams to pick on that's the hill you want to shout from?? Very weird.
Well, it’s worked out for him the last 3 years. Keep going with what’s working. Also probably gets a lot of engagement with Illini social media base, which is rabid.

My guess here…saw a possible bracket today. Push does Illini make the tourney? Illini gets a lower seed than expected. 10/11 or play in. Then can push…see they were lower than expected, and they did just make it in!

I know Seth Davis’s family. He gets paid extra to stir up controversy amongst fan bases. So he’s not dumb - it’s his job to make outlandish claims.

Torvik pointed us out to him. It was his question on why our resume isn't being talked about.

Would be perfect to drop to an 11 seed if it means playing a defensive minded team. Iowa St, TCU, or SDSU would be perfect. Then Kansas St as a 3.

The key is avoiding teams who can torch us. None of the teams I listed would run away with the game.

I had high hopes for this year, but it's pretty clear how it's likely going to end.

This team is the classic team that plays in the tournament every year that could have been a elite 8 type team, but ends up Iosing to a St. Peter's type team by 20.

I hope they prove me wrong, they've been sputtering for months.
