I had high hopes for this year, but it's pretty clear how it's likely going to end.

This team is the classic team that plays in the tournament every year that could have been a elite 8 type team, but ends up Iosing to a St. Peter's type team by 20.

I hope they prove me wrong, they've been sputtering for months.

not gonna lie, I would love the 10 seed vs Mizzou at 7. A lot of these projections are in Sacramento. This is great because it's near the Bay Area where a TON of Illini alums reside (and tbh not many Mizzou from what I see). Also Coleman gets a homecoming too. Perfect underdog scenario, we may even have more Illini than UCLA fans in that arena if they play there, thats not even an exaggeration. When Illinois played at BU for the NIT, we took over their court hahaha

Anything within driving distance of SF will make me very happy this year.

I am fine if Seth wants to make that argument however we swept Wisky beat RU and scUM so they should not be on his bubble

I am not a fan of quad wins/losses. Beating a net 70 team on the road should not have the same weight as beating a top 30 team even if it is at home. Also the metric looks at the season as a whole. I think in the future more advance metrics will be used. I believe we loss a few games this year when the other team was hot ie OSU Missouri Iowa. I don’t know any way to measure that aspect or if it was due to our defense

Let's take a moment and enjoy hearing our names announced on selection Sunday! 3 years (and would be 4th) in a row....man I remember just wanting to get the season over before because I knew we had no chance. The fact we did it this year with literally all of our starters leaving is encouraging, it was a decent bridge year that gave our freshmen a winning culture and atmosphere, and taught them how fast you could lose everything in an instant. honestly our team was probably the least "experienced" playing together the last couple years. We've seen guys like Mconell/Mckahey/Omori, Dickinson, Pickett (and that whole Penn State team), Edey stick around the b10 for way too long, but honestly that was us last year and we dominated. When they leave, they'll need to rebuild and that will be our chance to dominate. Next year may be a bit rough but I like the year after that.
