Updated records of the Top 16 teams two weeks after the official bracket preview:
View attachment 31736
Quad 1 wins are in green, Q3 and Q4 losses are in red. I would say Illinois has passed San Diego St and Auburn, while Creighton and Kentucky are nipping at our heels. Wisconsin on the other hand, is probably looking at a 6 seed right now.
Things that will be interesting Houston probably has played well enough to be the top seed still has to play KU

Does Arizona drop to a 2. If so it will be interesting if Tennessee or UNC moves up. Both have tough games left

KU and Marquette both have tough games and could easily lose another (@UH and UCONN). They could drop to the 3 line. I could see ISU being a 2

Bama still has to play @Florida

Duke has UNC

One of the few times 2-5 seeds are up for grabs. The Wisky win helped our resume still would be nice to get a few more wins

Friendly reminder to not pick uconn in your brackets this year. They won me my work madness bracket last year but it's not gonna happen again.

Uconn just won the big East regular season title. In their 5 title runs, only the 99 team won their conference regular season title. Also no champion has even made the second weekend since Duke in 2016.

Plus it's hard to repeat

I also don’t get the love of SDSU besides what they did last year with a different team…Don’t see how it isn’t creighton + Kentucky in for Wisconsin and SDSU from the earlier selection reveal.

3-7 in Quad 1; and those 3 wins are against Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s, and New Mexico. They basically lose all their road games against quality teams and then win home games and against bottom feeders.

That's the thing though is that they don't have what would be considered a "bad" loss. Their "worst" loss by NET ranking was at Q1 #55 Grand Canyon, who is currently atop the WAC. They have wins over UC Irvine, who just clinched the Big West regular season title, and UC San Diego, who finished 2nd in that conference but can't compete in the postseason because of their transition from D-II to D-I.

Can anyone explain to me how Auburn is rated #6 in the Net Rankings, while the Illini is currently rated #15?

I only ask because I was informed before that Quad 1 wins are very important: Illinois is 5 - 5 in Q1 while stupid-arse (I will never forgive pearl) Auburn is 1 - 7.

Is it because Illinois has two Q2 losses? That holds more water than Q1 wins? Same 22 - 7 record and basically same Q3/4 record. Is it SoS?

The Beloved also has a better road record.

Efficiency matters, so margin of victory matters. It's not a counting game.

Similar to the poster that asked about SDSU earlier, all of Auburn's losses are Q1. Their "worst" loss is at nice #69 NET Appalachian State. Illinois has 2 Quad 2 losses (Home vs. Maryland and at Penn State).

Not worried about a Barnes coached team in ncaat. One of worst ever (against seed expectations)

It's the same as Kenpom or Torvik. Auburn beats the absolute crap out of people when they win. They haven't won a game by fewer than 11 points this year.
