So what 6 seed and 2 seed do we want in our regional?

Potential 6 seeds - BYU, UNC, Tenn, Louisville

Potential 2 seeds - UConn, Iowa St, Houston

I really don't know if I can pick one out of each group. We can beat any of them, but also lose to any of them. I think BYU and Louisville are most likely to be upset by an 11. UConn and Iowa St are more likely to get upset than Houston is.
I don't want Houston or UConn. Bring on Otz round 2 in the S16.

Give me any 6 seed and Houston all day

The Houston is a double whammy as it’ll probably be played in Houston as a true road game.

If we get St. Louis can’t get BYU on round 2 and doubt they’d give us Tennessee playing earlier in the year. Bet we’d getUNC or Louisville.

Regarding Houston playing in Houston, I don't think they would do that to the 1 seed right? Same reason we aren't going to get Chicago.

We aren't getting Chicago simply because they're going to separate the top 4 Big Ten teams; I don't think it's out of consideration for the #1 seed there, as they have regularly put #2, #3 and #4 seeds in regions that are more of a home court advantage than the #1 seed over the last 25 years. If there isn't a Big XII team ahead of Houston that would want Houston on the S-Curve, I actually think they would give it to them. It feels like the Committee's stance is they want to protect the top 4 seeds (in descending order) as much as they can, but by the Elite Eight? If you've made it that far, it's just time to beat whoever is in front of you wherever the game is being played or go home!

We are a lock to not be a 2. We are trying to hang on to being a 3. Either way, I don't see us getting to the 2nd weekend.
A 4-seed would be absolutely catastrophic with this year’s set of 1-seeds.

Not even counting that just a few weeks ago we thought we could be fighting for a 1-seed.

The bottom 2 seed and the top 3 seed often go to the same region. If we get the the 3rd or 4th 2 seed, I think we just swap places with ISU. This is assuming they leave Duke as the #1 seed. If they give the #1 to MI, given the Duke injuries, ISU movies to the midwest while we likely stay in the east.
Not always, if there are inter conference matchups they are trying to avoid

3 seed. Season over next weekend.

Fire Brad !!!! it.
I’m pissed but this is a bit dramatic

For all we know we could play a 14 and 11 seed again and then play ISU or a conference foe we know well. Im not scared of UCONN besides the coaching matchup

It’s not dramatic. You have to take everything into consideration.

1 seed.. lose first weekend..

Skyy/Epps/Mayer year… lose first game

4 seed.. lose first weekend..

Last year.. lost first weekend…

Brad rode TSJ’s back to an elite 8…

How many first team all big ten guys have we had walk through the door? How many all Americans? How many freshman of the year? 6th man of the year? Most wins in the big ten over last 7 years?

And what do we have? 1 extended tournament run….. pathetic.

Coming into this game here’s how I thought it out:

Win the BTT, compounded with a FLA loss and UCONN loss — fair chance for a 1seed, at the very worst 2seed.

Beat WISC and lose to scUM — 2seed

Lose to WISC — 3seed.

I think right now it’s unlikely that we get off the 3 line.

Yeah, we're a 3 most likely.

Ah I gotcha.

Does the committee prioritize location or strength of teams when seeding? For example, let's say the committe picks Duke as the #1 overall team and obviously they get put in DC. But they also pick UConn as the strongest 2 seed. Do they put UConn in the East or do they move them somewhere else because theoretically Duke should get the weakest 2 seed?

Looks like some people are starting to move Miami to the 6 seed and drop Louisville to a 7.

This would set up a 6 VS 11 Miami VS Miami! @Piotyr

Purdue is going to take our spot in St. Louis, aren't they?
