The right pay for the right person with AC extensions forthcoming more than likely. Give BU more time with his new ACs and we'll see in the future the fruits of this staff multiplied exponentially. We've just begun to scratch the surface of the things they'll be able to do. The positive results in the months and years to come will definitely be elite. It will make Illini b-ball fans very pleased.

Really wish these threads didn't get into Guenther trashing. I love Whitman but he has over 50 million in big ten network revenue that Guenther didn't have.

He blew the Weber hire by appearances. But there was no keeping Self when Kansas called. And I doubt self would have agreed to a steep buy out like this.

Guenther allowed, by way of not fully doing his job, the destruction of a decent football program (when he took over) and the extreme decline of the basketball program. While he made some good hires in basketball, he didn’t do enough to keep them around. He also didn’t do enough to push bad football coaches out when it was obvious they couldn’t get it done. No excuses with the BTN money when other programs in the conference were able to manage just fine without it.
