Illini fan sections same as last year.Anyone having trouble finding the Illini fan sections for the Braggin Rights game?
Well you'll likely get one of your two wishes. Either it will be a full house and tickets will get more expensive, or there will be empty seats and tickets will get cheaper.I posted this in another thread, but the ticket map on the venue's website is interesting. Illinois is on the right, and Mizzou is on the left, with the blue seats representing unsold tickets:

This is obviously an oversimplification due to third party sellers and some fans sitting on the other side, but that would indicate about 11k Illini fans and maybe like 8k Missouri? That would be a hell of a lot better than last year (Mizzou's side might have been like 25-30% full, lol...), but I would really like to see the game come close to selling out. This will be my second Braggin' Rights Game, and I want to experience it with a full crowd.
With that said ... damn, the tickets situation is crazy! I am going with my wife and my sister (so 3 tickets), and I would prefer not to sit on the Mizzou side ... leaving StubHub as my only option, and tickets are outrageous. Hoping they go down as the game gets closer.
Hahaha, I know ... I have ZERO idea how I was able to get $75 tickets in section 115 last year on the venue's website on like December 15th, lol. Those were absolutely amazing seats, and it's not like the place was empty; the Illini side was about 90% full.Well you'll likely get one of your two wishes. This has always been one of my favorite sporting events to watch every year, and we finally pulled the trigger and attended last year. I had so much fun, and even with a terrible Mizzou team and their side only about 25% full, it was still an absolutely awesome atmosphere. I have never seen a more drunk collection of grown adults, it was very festive. I am INSANELY jealous of people who have attended in years past when both teams were highly ranked and it was packed.I feel like a bad fan as this is my first BR game
Ever been to Mardi Gras?I have never seen a more drunk collection of grown adults, it was very festive.
We doEver been to Mardi Gras?
I swear people in St. Louis take any excuse to drink
Thanks very very much for all the attendee-centered info and on-the-ground info. Invaluable for out of state alumni hoping for another ride on the Illini merry go-roundHahaha, I know ... We’re born with Budweiser flowing through our veins!!We do
Have to say I found that the Budweiser in St. Louis tastes better than the west coast version. We’re born with Budweiser flowing through our veins!!
Even if it is only in my head, I have never found this NOT to be true with a specific beer and its "homeland," haha ... which is why one of my most precious bucket list items is to have a Kona Big Wave in Hawaii.Have to say I found that the Budweiser in St. Louis tastes better than the west coast version.
Cue up that asteroid / crater app pleaseP.S. I almost never root for Mizzou, but I actually hope they upset KU tomorrow
In part it is the freshness. A long neck at my neighborhood bar in St. Louis was by far the best tasting Budweiser I have had and was probably just a few days old. We get our Bud from LA here in Alaska, so it is probably getting close to a month old by the time it is trucked to Seattle and barged to Anchorage and then sits at the distributer for a week before going to the local liquor store. But it is fresher than it would be coming from St. Louis. I think that there could be a slight difference in the yeast strain also. I was talking to a rep from the Boston Lager brewery a few years ago and they contract out production for their beer to regional brewers. Henry Weinhard in Seattle had been brewing their beer, but they stole their yeast variety so they canceled their contract. The taste of Henry Weinhards greatly improved after that.Even if it is only in my head, I have never found this NOT to be true with a specific beer and its "homeland," haha ... which is why one of my most precious bucket list items is to have a Kona Big Wave in Hawaii.
