I’m sure being in the student section during the Rose Bowl season skews my bias here, but Rashard. I’m pretty sure he was faster and like 20 lbs heavier. The bonus of those NEZ seats is you’re at the madden angle, so you see what all the jump cuts, the jukes, the spins, and the plant your leg and go bursts look like. Rashard was something serious.
Yeah Rashard was insane. Got to see him live two games in 07. He would have run for 2,000 yards behind our current line. He just missed 2,000 combined yards that season (had nearly 1,700 rushing and just over 300 receiving). A beast. That's no slight to Chase as he's amazing and so glad we have him.

Concur saw Rashard from student section every home game that year. He was a different breed of athlete complete freak of nature. No slight at all to Chase lucky to have both.

Rashard's combination of speed, power and athleticism were amazing. We've never seen a RB like that at Illinois, before or since.

It's also why Chase is so special. So effective and durable despite Rashard's natural attributes.
