Yeah, I hate em too, but I'm afraid you'll have to re-check your facts. Dallas Cowboy Super Bowls listed below:There are many good things about being a Chicago Bears fan. Historic franchise. Some all-time great and legendary players over the years. Playing outdoors in ‘Bears’ Weather’ not for wimps. Energetic and caring fan base. And a fan base that keeps hoping even when the team gives them little reason to.
But we just saw in the last few days one of the best things about being a Bears fan. And that is: That you are NOT a Dallas Cowboys fan!
We have been fed the nonsense for generations that Dallas is America’s Team. The franchise now has a valuation greater than some Nations. Their fans think that The Boys have some kind of divine right to win Super Bowls. And that with very deep pockets they have brought in and paid some top talent for many years now.
AND STILL... They can’t win The Big Ones. All that going for them and they fall on their North Texas faces each and every year.
And Dallas Cowboy fans were told that THIS was THE YEAR. All the disappointments of the past were going to disappear when The Boys finally grabbed the big trophy this time around.
BUT NO. The Fates again stepped in and showed that not only are the Cowboys NOT America’s team... but they are not even representing the Dallas Metroplex Area very well any more. And the fan base has gone from disappointment to frustration to anger. The Dallas elite do NOT like to lose. Ever. In anything.
And Chicago doesn’t like to lose, either. But we in the former City of Broad Shoulders have learned to live with disappointment and still carry on. We don’t have the same sense of oversized entitlement that Dallas fans have and so it’s easier for Bear fans to overlook the bad and focus on the good.
And the good right now is a chance to take what many say is the next great young QB to come into the League. Fields is not bad but he is hardly great. And greatness is what usually gets the job done.
So when you are giving thanks for the blessings in your lives Bear fans, be sure to give thanks that you are not Dallas Cowboy fans. And if Dallas really is America’s Team... then America looks like it’s in a whole lot of hurt.
And maybe Bear fans... you might even root for Green Bay or Detroit in the coming days. Not because you like them... but just because you're happy you're not watching Dallas.
not for nor againstI take it you're not a fan of the Rooney Rule?
Not sure what I think of the hire. I do like that he’s been OC before, but not a great track record. Seattle’s D hasn’t been very good of late, so hopefully better D with Bears will benefit his offense.
I know all about his McVay connection and Geno Smith’s resurgence in 2021. I also know that in his other two years as OC. Seattle’s offense was “mid-packish.” Further. I did not say Seattle’s D performance should factor in to his hiring. My point was just that offensive play calling and performance can be impacted by the performance of a team’s D (short fields, score of game/playing catch up, etc.). So while the mid-pack offenses at Seattle have me concerned somewhat, playing with a better D than he had in Seattle should benefit his offense. He's part of the McVay coaching tree. Waldron was the offensive quality control coach when McVay was the OC in Washington. Had different jobs with the Rams after McVay got hired as the head coach (TE coach in 2017, Passing game coordinator in 2018, Passing game coordinator and QB coach in 2019, Pass game coordinator in 2020). The Seattle D shouldn't have a factor in whether the Bears hired him or not. He's a big reason why Geno Smith had such a big career resurgence in 2021.
The other thing to consider eberflush is a lame duck. EVERYONE knows he should have been fired. It was a very lame decision to keep a coach for a thurd year after winning 10 games in the first two. His abject failure got us a number of extremely high draft picks so he served his purpose. But don’t let him manage the team when it’s got to be good, not just trying to be bad. So— what type of coach joins a sinking ship like the bears? Marginal candidates is who.
I wouldn’t join an organization where the odds are great that the boss will be fired the next year( and maybe his boss too!)
So unless he’s a new coach in the waiting, you probably have a placeholder. And we the fans have another year of mediocrity and faint but dying hopes.
Thus organization is rotten from the core and stinks from the head…
I'm not convinced that Eberfluss is a good coach but I think it's unfair to judge him on his two-year win total when they were trying to lose games in 2022.With the head coach heavily tilted toward managing the defense, who ever is offensive coordinator will have to stand on his own two feet. How a person performed under another coach doesn’t tell the whole story. The previous coordinator was QB coach was with Aaron Rodgers in GB. How much input did Rogers need and accept, vs how much did Fuelds need. He was on an island and failed.
The question will be as game manager of the O side of the team how will he fare? Does his background and innate capabilities prepare for this role?
We shall see… is he capable of being the offense “head coach?”

If anyone in the Bears organization thought the 2022 Bears were going to do anything other than lose double digit games, they are as dumb as you say they are. Tom Landry, Papa Bear Halas, and Vince Lombardi couldn't have got together and made that team a .500 squad. This season was better, but the Bears were still light on high end talent. With the head coach heavily tilted toward managing the defense, who ever is offensive coordinator will have to stand on his own two feet. Eberflus continuing to hire himself as defensive playcaller is the most valuable thing he can do for the team.
Washington was the assistant head coach and D-line coach in Buffalo this past season. Washington also worked in Chicago as part of the defensive staff from 2008-2010 when Lovie was coaching.
Stay tuned, all of the typical Bears mistakes, plus things that we haven't ever dreamed of could happen.Eberflus continuing to hire himself as defensive playcaller is the most valuable thing he can do for the team.
And now he has an OC accustomed to being a HC-of-the-offense type.
Shame on me for having hope, but this situation sure looks like an above-average QB away from being pretty exciting. What could possibly go wrong?
