Chicago Bears 2026-2027

I really thought they had a chance to milk the clock a few times when they were up comfortably in the second half and they kept throwing.
I think , all things equal BJ is trying to help CW pad his stats . but it may have been an instance today where it was a little risky .

High IQ play by Roschon Johnson seals the W for the Bears. Makes up for his fumble.

Ben pulled the starters too early I feel. Falcons are a tough opponent and credit them for not lying down. Nice road win when all is said and done.
It had to be because we play Thursday. If it was any other reason, I dont think we see that again. He is more wired to run it up than to back off.

My daughter was worried we would be the only bears fans there today (bit of a worry wart), but we seemed to outnumber them 2 to 1 or better (sounded more like 3 to 1)..

Our safeties also need to get their eyes on the ball on these deep throws. Its killing us

Johnson needs to understand that the NFL isn't college. You don't sub out with 12 minutes to go.

I don't think anyone can blame Johnson for doing that up 31-7... Obviously in hindsight one can say he should've kept them, but it made total sense for him to do so considering all the injuries, and that the Bears had a short week ahead of them.

And to be fair, if it wasn't for Roshan's fumble (it took a perfectly timed and position punch) on drive where the Bears were driving and were very close to FG range, and then a quick and long completion by Atlanta (due to blatant offensive PI that was not called, in a game where the refs didn't seem to miss anything the Bears did), the game would still have been in the bag with the rested starters.

Hard disagree. Team is banged up already and plays Thursday. Protect guys wherever possible.
12 minutes, when you don't have the ball, is forever in the NFL. Heck, we've seen the Bears come back from the dead with all starters in.

Ok, let's go with the fact that they wanted to rest some guys. You don't do a hockey line change with the entire defense against an offense like that.

If the Bears had the ball, there's 7/8 minutes to go, the clock is running.....fine. Start picking and choosing subs. After the D let up the score, the thought of subbing Williams out was completely out the window.

I don't disagree with the thought process, I just think it was WAY too premature with a full quarter to go, especially when we don't have the ball with the clock melting. Atlanta has way too good of an offense to just get the mulligan. Once they got the score + 2 point conversion...it was game on.

It's hard to get a full read on this squad. The offense at times looks like a team capable of winning the Super Bowl this year. Then they do some stupid things, defense lets up & then ATL is back in the game. NFL is such a week to week (and sometimes minute to minute) league. It's crazy. Hell Green Bay was ready to run LaFluer out on a rail 3 weeks ago & now they've played much better 2 weeks in a row.

Ultimately we need Monangai to be healthy so the 2 headed running back is a thing. I think that 4th quarter yesterday looks different if he is in the game. He's the kind of back that gets better as the game wears on. His physical style turns a 3 yard first quarter run into a 9 yard 4th quarter run. Just a physical grinder.

Swift & Monangai if both are healthy present a somewhat unique weapon in the modern NFL. A platoon that can attack defenses 2 different ways depending on defensive approach as well as the game situation. It has the potential to be a huge factor in January. Just got to get everyone healthy & consistent. Need to cut down on the penalties a bit as well.
