What a weird team, back to .500.
ive liked Donovan but also question his approach based on how uneven his teams have been. the zach/Demar teams were weird and ball dominant but they also seemed to struggle with consistency

umm, yes please. would assume they would mean Ayo gets signed to the Bulls too? though maybe they cut ties with both Coby and Ayo
In what universe does this make any sense for the Bulls. Mike Conley is 38 years old. The Bulls need a rim protector, not ready to retire guards and second round draft picks. AI click bait BS.

the bulls need to tear their team down and id rather they sign Ayo long term than Coby, thats the main point. the details arent great but neither is this team, coach or front office. i havent seen the magic AK was supposed to deliver and they should scrap it.

my fandom will probably follow Ayo, and I've been a lifelong bulls fan (Jordan era and beyond). i can only stomach one mismanaged Chicago franchise at a time at this point in my life

It's an expiring contract. In NBA trades you have to balance the contract money. You could see a scenario where the Bulls acquire an expiring contract like this to flip to a non-competitive team in exchange for a player the Bulls want and whose contract the other team wants to be rid of. In the NBA this is really the only way to be rid of a guaranteed contract.

Also if they're giving up on this year they just retain Conley, get the draft picks and a young player and clear Conley's salary at year end. If that's the scenario the player doesn't really matter, just has to be an expiring deal because the last thing you want is long term commitments.

i knew a 10pt lead with 6ish min left was not safe when Donovan subbed out Ayo for Coby. sure enough, Bulls loss to one of the worst teams record wise in the nba. Coby, leading in minutes while being the 7/8th worse efficient out of 9 to play (5-15, 1-5 3pt) meaningful minutes and 2nd worse +/- was blocked twice on forced drives in those final 5 min including last shot of the game

Ayo deserves to get paid and appreciated. hes one of the most (if not the most) consistent player on the roster and yet is often pulled at the end of the game. this feels like AK/BD forcing Okoro to justify the signing, and Okoro isnt even the biggest problem most nights but he doesn't bring a ton on a night by night basis to my eyes (I'm not fully convinced he is that much of a defensive upgrade from what Ayo has always brought)

ok, rant over .....

Bulls slayed for the third time by the bum Pacers. 1-5 against Pacers and Pelicans. A bunch of other losses against NBA bottom feeders. Please do something.
