Small sample size alert: Baez has dropped his strikeout percentage from 40% in '14 to 30% in '15 to 20% in '16. If he keeps that up and continues to be amazing in the field, he's going to be very hard to keep out of the lineup.

Soler, meanwhile is only 4 for his last 33 and has only started in two of the last 6 games despite Heyward being banged up and Szczur going on the DL.

I always thought that Baez would be a productive player if he kept his K rate to 25%. Looks like he has that title of "Super Sub" written all over him.

Bryant also dramatically reduced his K rate this year.

There isn't much of a sample, but Soler is likely a slow starter like A-Ram was. His defense hasn't improved this year, so he isn't positionally flexible, which is important to this regime and current manager. He's probably turned himself into a a trade to the AL team player.

Just got tickets to see the Cubs when they visit San Francisco in a couple weekends! Hope they're still this hot when that series rolls around.

I planned on going to series, but the wife had that weekend already scheduled.Historically, the Cubs come to SF in July and I go

LaStella with a 2 run job. Who was the poster who argued with me last season that Tommy wasn't very good?

You're saving good bucks at least. The weekend games are running $50 + fees just for standing room only.

That would mean they would need to go 84-49, which is .631 winning percentage. It's probably unsustainable, but they currently have a .793 and are on pace to win 128.

Impossible to complain about anything BUT :))) it would be nice to see Heyward start hitting. Zobrist and his recent tear has really helped cover up Hayward's struggles.

Walkoff homer in the bottom of the 13th by Baez to sweep the Nats. Couldn't ask for a better series than that!

(And Jake didn't have his best game either...this is a complete team!)

Ryan Zimmerman set a major league record with 14 left on base this game.

Dear Dusty Baker,

Thank you for batting the guy leading the league in batting average fifth, two slots behind the reigning League MVP. Putting the guy OPSing in the .660s between them is a stroke of genius.

Sincerely,
Nationals opponents.
