Chicago Cubs 2018 Season

Now 7 for 51 (.137) with RISP for the year.

Great start by Chatwood and continued domination by the pen.

Hopefully we can chalk today up to a day start after a night game on get away day. I bet the bats get well tomorrow.

That injury to Knebel looked bad. I'm guessing major hammy tear.

Yeah. I was watching with my dad and we said in unison, “Well, he’s done for the year.”

Ahh... family bonding over someone else’s brutal injury...

Looks like 6-8 weeks. Definitely not a tear though.

That umpire last night had the worst strike zone I’vd ever seen.

Hendricks pitched Shaw two clear strikes called balls before Shaw hit his home run. Completely changed the at bat. Hendricks didn’t show any emotion because he’s Hendricks, but I’m kind of surprised none of Contreras, Maddon, or Hickey got tossed after that at bat.

Last night’s game reminded me a ton of Quintana’s first start. Offense has a chance but doesn’t put them away early. Starter was rolling along before losing it in the middle innings.

The Brewers’ outfield arms are brutal. The Cubs are running on them every chance they get.

Hopefully Rizzo’s back in the lineup this afternoon.

Yeah that was probably the worst home plate umpiring I have ever seen, either in person or on TV.

You'd have to be out of your damn mind to go to the game today.

I'm going. It will be high 30s during the game with not much wind. Nothing wrong with that.

So...how long does the Happ hitting leadoff experiment last if he keeps looking, well, Happless at the plate?

Hopefully not much longer. Not sure who I'd put there. Schwarber? Zobrist (while Rizzo is on the DL)? That experiment wasn't ideal last season, but who knows.

Hot take from yesterday's game: they forgot about ball boys when they redid the dugouts.

Hey wake up Cubs, spring training is over. Apparently they still have a World Series hangover from two seasons ago.
