To me, anything less than a sweep is disappointing. They're only winning at a .167 clip. That's only 2-10 out of every 12 games.Need a minimum of 2 out of 3 against the Rockies.
Big moment for Mr. Shaw. Just relax and play ball, young man. Hopefully this is when things really start to click for him.Big win tonight, coming from behind to beat a team they should beat,
And not just because he fills a need, but because he fills a need without us giving anything up. There has been plenty of speculation on the Cubs adding at 3rd. It sure would be nice to be able to use any relatively expandable assets on pitching, rather than help in the field.Shaw doesn’t have to be all that good to be a big plus for the Cubs. He just has to field his position and not be an automatic out.
The fact that he’s hitting .355/.412/.516 in the 8 games since being called up is pure gravy. If he can merely sustain his full season .670 OPS the rest of the way as the “worst” hitting regular in the Cubs lineup, while continuing to look great fielding third, that will be good enough.
With the Tigers holding the best record in baseball. I didn't see that coming. Skubal looks like he'll repeat for Cy Young.Cubs, Dodgers, Mets, and Phillies are now in a 4-way tie for best record in the national league.
Never would have guessed that…
Crazy because it includes the extra innings meltdown against San Francisco tooNever would have guessed that…
Fixed it for you.....Need a minimum of 2 out of 3 against everyone.......
Quick Prediction at the ONE-THIRD OF SEASON NOW COMPLETE mark:Fixed it for you.....
Seeing Gallen's regression has me hesitant for the Cubs to make a move on him. Depth in the rotation is absolutely needed, with Hoyer et al. needing to make some moves, but the upside isn't there for me on Gallen as a rental.Quick Prediction at the ONE-THIRD OF SEASON NOW COMPLETE mark:
96-66 Solid as the #2 seed in NL (BTW, identical to the record of the 1984 Eastern Division Champs). Zack Gallen has a solid final 2 months of the season and slides in as our #2 starter behind S. Imanaga.
I agree unless they can get him very cheaply.Seeing Gallen's regression has me hesitant for the Cubs to make a move on him. Depth in the rotation is absolutely needed, with Hoyer et al. needing to make some moves, but the upside isn't there for me on Gallen as a rental.
