The Cubs being 12-9 with all the pitching injuries and getting only one homer and ten RBI’s combined from Busch, PCA, and Suzuki is pretty amazing.
Cubs #14 prospect is on the move. Tommy John surgery soon after he signed as second round pick in 2024 and a subsequent elbow sprain limited Mathis to 29 games at A ball plus an AZFL stint in 2025. Proved too tough for A this time around
Tops in the NL Central for run differential, too (+30 going into today).

Don't disagree, but at the time, that offense was an absolute disgrace. They got off to an absolutely awful start. Now that they're scoring, easy to look back and say they should have given him more time.
Every player looks bad when they’re slumping. But I’m not sure anyone looks worse when they’re slumping than Seiya does.

Well that aged very poorly, very quickly, but you're right. When he's bad, it's bad, but when he gets hot......it's insanely hot. I suspect with the warmer weather, he'll heat up.
