Chicago Cubs 2026

I also hope we as a fanbase can give Seiya some love after the 10th inning, 2 RBI single against Milwaukee to clinch the series.
Or the home runs in each of the first two games of the series. The Cubs don't have a player that has been consistently good offensively all year. All that said, 2, 3, 4, 5 in the order have left a lot to be desired. The biggest disappointment, to me, is Bregman.

I don’t understand them signing Bregman then and definitely not now. All you have done is block Shaw from playing everyday. After watching Bregman not hustle to first base in the last game I definitely don’t like the signing. What a waste of money! This is why I never get too excited about baseball versus the other sports. Too many fat contracts that are given out to players who are past their prime and will never live up to the money they make. They always get paid for what they have done and not what they will do. To make matters worse the team has to eat the contract in order to get rid of the underperforming player. No other sport does this.

The way 2B, 3B, and SS are tied up for a number of years with Hoerner, Bregman, and Swanson, Shaw will either be traded at some point or become either Suzuki's or Happ's replacement next season.

Is it just me or was the send of Swanson on the short fly ball by Busch one of the worst sends ever in the ninth?
