As of the 5th inning in today's game, the Jekyll and Hyde offense theme continues.
1 hit in 14 innings.
Edit: We got a hit!

Bruce Levine is right about as much as a weatherman. Cabrera is scheduled to start Sunday.
I saw that earlier. Guess I wasn’t wrong.Bruce Levine is right about as much as a weatherman. Cabrera is scheduled to start Sunday.
That is the kind of starts we need from him to justify trading Rojas. I liked what he said postgame about being a Cub and how welcoming the team has been.Great bounceback start from Holmes. 1 hit in 6 2/3.
Jacob Webb has been a godsend.
I was at the Portland - Binghampton AA game yesterday, and Rojas did not play. I was hoping to see what he had. That is the kind of starts we need from him to justify trading Rojas. I liked what he said postgame about being a Cub and how welcoming the team has been.
I don’t think he’s a superstar in waiting, but he has a very high floor IMO based on his hit tool. Cubs were very aggressive promoting him up until heading back to AA this year. Still just turned 21 this year. I think he will be a very productive hitter for quite a few years. And if he can continue to up his power, his bat will play even better at 3B. I think it is likely there or 2B he ends up. I’m thinking a Nico Hoerner with a bit more power but a bit less SB.I was at the Portland - Binghampton AA game yesterday, and Rojas did not play. Unfortunately, some of that was with the Cubs.Suck it. Go Cubs!
Yes. I'm one of those bitter-jaded-but-glad-he's-gone types when it comes to sports.Unfortunately, some of that was with the Cubs.
Tucker still has something weird with his swing. Like he doesn’t drive through the ball and hits weak ground balls and pop ups.

Heyward got in the bad, bad, bad habit of trying to pull everything, which is what constantly led to him rolling over and getting the result of the ground ball to second base. He wanted to hit for power and it just led to him being a bad hitter. It was infuriating, he got booed, but it's a habit that's hard to break. Hitting the ball where it's pitched(to the opposite field) is an art and is the difference between a .210 and a .280 average.Reminds me of Jason Heyward, another tall, lanky batter. Heyward hurt his wrist in 2016, played through it, but his swing got off, and he never really recovered.
Tucker tried to play through his wrist injury, too. He’s been a completely different hitter the last 50-ish games with the Cubs and now this season with the Dodgers.
It was the more logical move. Assad has options and he wasn’t going to go today. If we go to a 6 man rotation which has been talked about, we will be down to 7 relievers until Sept.Assad down, Cabrera ready to roll.
It's going to backfire. Cabrera, per usual, can't throw strikes and by sending Assad down, they don't have a long man.It was the more logical move. Assad has options and he wasn’t going to go today. If we go to a 6 man rotation which has been talked about, we will be down to 7 relievers until Sept.
Their dream is on life support? The dream is a World Series. The playoffs haven't started yet.The Cubs dream is now on life-support. Dear god of hubris, please make me regret those words.![]()
And they lose the ground they made up with the Brewers winning 3 of 4 in L.A.They aren’t going to catch the Brewers if they are going to lose 3 out of a 4 game stretch against the Nats and Cards. Another horrendous outing by Cabrera, and just heard he got another blister? Here we go again.
Dodgers seem to be phoning it inAnd they lose the ground they made up with the Brewers winning 3 of 4 in L.A.
Not the results we were hoping for.
