Sox signed Dallas Keuchel. 3 yrs/54 mil. Not too long of a contract and the money seems fair. Nice signing!
Both Gonzalez and Keuchel will bring a world of experience and talent. Just what our young staff needs. When Rodon comes back at mid year, we are looking at Giolito, Keuchel, Kopech, Gonzalez, Rodon, Lopez as a VERY solid starting six. With a lineup of Madrigal, Anderson, Moncada, Jimenez, Abreu, Grandal, Robert, Mazara, and whoever DHes, you are looking at an extremely potent lineup. Can't wait.

Beisbol is far from my favorite sport, but I am so ready for the Sox to be relevant again.

It's funny to read this entire thread, especially people upset about missing out on that cancer Machado.

The White Sox are pushing to become the best pro team in Chicago. The Cubs still have the better team for now, but if guys like Madrigal, Cease, Kopech, and Robert pan out....could be fun.

You can slot Edwin Encarnacion at the DH. Reports have it a y ear deal for 12 mil. Team option for same money.

I'd say the Cubs do not have the better team at this point. I root for both teams, though the Sox have been "my team" for 60 years. I couldn't be more excited about the roster for next year. I'm hoping Robert and Madrigal are promoted quickly. I'd hate to lose a few games early, just to save one year of free agency, only to find that we are those few games short of the division title in September. Go Sox!

I feel like the only Sox fan on the planet not over the moon about this off season. Grandal moves the needle. The others? I'm not sure.

Bah, humbug! :)

Considering the last 13 (or is it 14, lol) seasons, this is a helluva Christmas.

We're not that far removed from the "all-in" off season where they signed Melky, Laroche, Robertson, traded for Samardjzia etc. Half measures should be nothing new to us, and outside of Grandal - that's what this feels like to me.

Encarnacion and Keuchel are not half measures. Both of them can play. The bigger news on the Sox, however, will be the promotions of Madrigal and Robert. The starting lineup will literally have no weaknesses, and the bench gets so much better when the former starters are now sitting on it.

You'd understand how this can be if you were as old as me, and had to watch the Cubs on WGN if you wanted to see ANY baseball. In those days, there were only 4 Chicago channels.

Sure, but the Cubs were always playing against another team, which instantly became my second favorite team.

Officially looking at opening day tickets now that Robert will be up.

Win-win for the club and the player. As with Jimenez, great move. Too soon to get over stoked (as in mortal lock...), but this team is good enough to contend, IMO.

Biggest ?s now will be how the bullpen is put together, and if that many young players can all perform right away. Still may be a year away from a big jump, but this is going to be fun.

It certainly has the potential to be a big year. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a baseball season starting.

What I like most about this extension is that it's the proper way to treat people. I just don't agree with holding back guys who are obviously ready because you want to have an extra year of control 7 years down the road. If my employer did that to me I would fulfill my contract and leave at the first opportunity, which is what I expect Bryant to do on the other side of town.

Here’s your lineup: Madrigal, Anderson, Moncada, Abreu, Encarnacion, Jimenez, Robert, Grandal, Mazara. THAT is a murderers row. Quite literally, you have a hard time finding a place to put Grandal, a 70 million dollar stud. I CANNOT WAIT!!!
