Who coaches Kentucky next year? Scott Drew?
Depends who does what in this tournament.

But if I were Kentucky, there would be only one name on my list, Chris Beard.

Their fans won't care about his off the court issues. They'll just see a guy who took Arkansas Little Rock from 13 wins the year before he got their to 30 wins, including an NCAA tournament win over Purdue in 1 year. Then the guy who went to Texas Tech and took them from averaging 15 wins a year under Tubby Smith to the Elite 8 in year 2 and the Title game in year 3. Then he goes to Texas where Shaka was mediocre and went to 22 wins in year 1 and built a Final Four caliber team that was ranked #2 before he got fired. Even after his hiatus, he took Ole Miss from 10 wins to 20 in one season. The man can coach, and the SEC isn't so worried about ethics.

I firmly believe beard is a top 5 coach in college basketball. I just don’t know if they want to hitch their wagon to him because of his assault

@Indy Illini Fan what are the odds that if Coach cal gets canned by Kentucky that Michigan will pursue? Will the academic hurdles at Michigan stop a hire like that?

He is owed 34 million if he is canned ... I would set the odds at < 50% ... But it is not off the table ...

UK people are nuts ...

At minimum ... Cal is going to be told to shake up his staff ... Someone has to take the blame for yet another :poop: show ...

Move Hamer to the role of assistant to the head coach/defensive coordinator. Then maybe he can spend a lot of time studying different defensive sets, looks and philosophy. Maybe he will learn something. And in the meantime......

I don’t think Kentucky will care one bit.

This is the program of the broken FedEx envelope. They care about winning and championships. Everything else is a distant, distant second.

Fire Cal - $33 million
Fire staff - $2 million
Hire new coach (who knows you are paying the current coach $33 million go away) - $10 million
Paying buyout for new coach - $5 million
Paying for surrounding staff - $5 million

Firing staff would be more than 2 million ... More like 4.75 million from what I have been told ...

To get a new coach you're looking at around 18 million including everything in the first year ...

And you're right staff pool for new coach would be right around 5 million ...

So all in ... To fire Cal and move on ...

You're talking about 62 million dollars ...

Plus you're going to need to keep NIL the same or increase it ... 7 million ...
