I guess what I’d be interested to know is *when* whatever happened with Dee, happened.

Edit: Did not even know he was on back on campus for a year in ‘15-‘16

He was gone to the league a year after the Final Four. Never returned to Champaign in any sort of employed capacity - how bad can you **** up as an 18-22 year old where you’re allowed to stay on campus, play full time, return for your senior year, etc - and then never, ever again? That doesn’t add up to me.
He worked for the DIA…that’s when he f**ked up!

I literally had no idea this was even a thing.

What a bizarre and unfortunate era for the program those years were.

I’m going to choose to see this as a mutually beneficial split.

Realistically Fraizers recruits have been lack luster here, for one reason or another. Maybe that isn’t his fault.

In the grand scheme of things, I think it’s time to think bigger. If we have the NIL budget we do, we shouldn’t been going on a decade plus of no consensus 5 stars out of high school. Or missing on some of the larger names in the portal. Not saying Frazier couldn’t deliver, but he hasn’t.

It’s beyond time to fully trust underwood. I think there’s another achievable gear here he can get to. This could be an avenue towards it.

They got to get TA some help to land some 5-stars.

Elite 8 to this. We are an utter mess and IU and MI who were both in the dumpster have more momentum than us. WTH. This is on Brad!!! I will hold out hope but you just ran off an Illini favorite and his recruits. I’m sad regardless how this turns out.
The internet has billions of dumb takes a day. But this take is the winner winner chicken dinner of the day for bad takes

Meaning, promises made in those two areas were broken and that's what has upset CF?
well, that's one possibility. the other is that someone else gets a better deal than his guy. So if they've arranged one number for Amani and they're arranging a higher number for Booth, I can see that sitting pretty bad.

We’ve been told this will be a good weekend for us. At least wait until Monday for the dramatics.

I find it a bit weird that assistants get upset if "their" recruits get recruited over. Seems un-EDG, not team oriented, selfish, etc.
Probably more difficult to reel in the next recruit, is my guess. You tell them and their family how good they fit, but then they are recruited over.

I’m also guessing that’s why Jase and parents went directly to Brad to get assurances…or not

Horrible loss. Can’t put too much lipstick on this pig. Fantastic recruiter. They better lock up tim Anderson-if he goes it’s a disaster

I'm assuming as well that Chester was a bit more pissed about Jase not being guaranteed playing time than was known at the time.

Man, not feeling this if Brad and him are leaving on bad terms. Chet is an Illini for life no matter what.
I'm sorry to see Chester leave but I trust Brad will not let Illinois miss a beat.

Chester is Illini for life but most seem to gloss over that his first 3 years he was booed off the court many times by the same Illinois fans for his complete inability at offense. His defense as player was more about toughness, effort, and grit and not his knowledge then or now about the X and O's of defense.

I don't know what "etc..." comprises; however, strict denial of the foregoing three pastimes in males 17-early-20-ish would seem to... how shall I put this... channel a certain energy and focus (even a certain amount of fury) into their basketball playing.
Don’t disagree, but what 17-20 year old is signing up for that realistically?

Do whatever it takes to bring Antigua back.

Timing absolutely screwed us with Boynton, this one's on Brad if he didn't realize how fed up Chester was and wasn't expecting this with his portal plans. But with OA that would be a hell of a replacement.
I don’t see how this is on Brad. I’m sure you want to see the most best team on the floor. If you don’t want your guys recruited over, recruit better guys. Hansberry, Harris, and Butler are good players but I don’t see them being stars or our best players.

Take a breath. Think this through and wait to see who the hire is to pass judgement. “Utter mess” seems a little strong.
